No gimmicks, vote yes or no according to your own rationals which could be anything.

At our peak... the NA server has about 17k.. but is around 15k at the moment. The EU server was around 35k during their peak today and the RU server was approx. 37k during their peak. This needs to be considered when condemning or insisting.

RDF is not a game breaker. I have tried it in CA, BB and DD on the PTS and it is not always information that you can use. And more to the point to have it, you have to not have something else that would be as or more useful.

You do realize that RPF hasn't actually been added yet right? That all the skills are still in testing and subject to change?

RDF is being blown so far out of proportion it boggles my mind. I'd be hard put to think of a more situational skill. It's going to take exceptional skill to adequately employ it in any but the most pointless situation (chasing down 1 DD or CA at the end of a match when your team is up 7 vs 1 and 970 points to 340 points is utterly pointless). Not only is it extremely situational, but it requires sacrifices of captain abilities which are universally a lot more useful. I mainly see it as a way to either help hyper-specialize a very few builds for elite players, or as an idiot crutch to help people think they are immune to DDs.

What's weird is that in all these disgussions I hear about how RDF is going to ruin DDs, people seem to forget that RDF indicates the nearest enemy ship - not the nearest enemy destroyer. If there is a Shimekaze with 15x F3 torpedoes 7.2km away from your ship, and you have RDF, you won't see an indicator pointing to that Shimekaze if there is already a Des Moines 7.1km away and closing the range. You'll see a useless indicator pointing to a very much visible Des Moines that is filling your ship with AP shells. Good use of 4 captain points that will be.

Glad there are other people, named I recognize even, that feel the same way I do about this being horribly overblown.

.,.yeah.. The thing is.... the group on here that is very vocal about not liking this would like to think they represent the majority of players, but it is not the case.. all of us on here are the hyper interested.... last night the NA server had around 17k at it's peak.... the EU yesterday peaked at about 36k and the RU server at around 38k... so the 60 or so vocal voices in here are a drop in the bucket compared to the entire user base.... and that also includes my peeps from the corner as well... do not take voices on here or other forums as a good measure of the user base... do not fool yourself into thinking you know what others want , and please stop being do dramatic about changes to the game.... it is what happens in life ... and basically. people do not like change.. and a lot of effort has been put in by the Unicom players and change means a new challenge. Some people do not like a new challenge

I have tested the RDF multiple times... it is not a deal breaker and its usefulness is sketchy.. the info is vague and only really comes into play when hunting down the last one or two and just maybe getting a clue as to which cap is targeted at the beginning... but I tried following that lead and came around the corner to a fleet of CA and BB's and got my butt shot off...

The RDF dust up is just that...

The skill is hard to justify the skill since it is equipment and not a skill. It's not like ships use their radios all the time and since the detection is passive, being alerted to being detected is pure ESP. I played a couple of battles with it and it was pretty handy, but it took all the suspense out of the battle and made speculative torpedoes a lot less speculative. Got first blood and high caliber using the skill. I was thinking I might use it to boost my stats, but between not caring about my stats and the the battles lacking suspense, I logged out after three battles.

..and after all that gnashing of teeth and foot stomping and declaring the end of the world...

it was all for naught... Radio Direction Finding is just another tool in the box.. it is not the end of the game.

So.. next time there is a change coming... go try it for your self , and event hen do not be so sure of your opinion.... OR, waltz your butt back into this thread and admit you were wrong. Humility goes a long way.
