A big milestone for me and my 2017 goal already done.  A little commentary and critique of the battle along with more thoughts on the Missouri.

I almost always get 100k damage, but never more than 150k. Just cant seem to break that number, especially considering how poorly I've neen playing recently.

I won't lie either Zoup, i was surprised to hear you hadn't broken 200k in all this time..

and needless to say "Zoupy Sails" is perfect...although you may need to change the channel name to "Nozoupyforyou" but that doesn't have the same ring to it.

Like you Zoup, I've come painstakingly close to cracking the 200k barrier, but am still stuck at 197k for now.

But I've capped myself at T8 ships until I get all tech tree lines up to T8, so I'm assuming the 200k barrier will be easier to breach come T9/T10.

Yeah... like I said... I've thrown up 180 and 190k to make me sick.  Just for some reason or another never happened.  Not that it was a big deal.  I know for some people even 100k is a struggle.  And for those individuals, I say anything over 100k is a great game in my opinion.  Actually,  that's well above average.

You would think.  Honestly, I thought I'd hit 200k in the Bismarck for the feat. Both that and the NC are more than capable

Zoupy Sails...  I see what you did there.

BTW, Tony and Hunt Sales, Soupy's sons, who are great musicians themselves, played with Todd Rundgren, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie (RIP). Music geek is my other thing.

Back on topic...  Well played!   This piece of inspiring play reminds me that I need to get back into driving my MO soon.

It's not easy and 100k can be tough sometimes. Player ability has a lot to do with it of course, but I think sometimes RNGesus just likes to say "NOT TODAY"

This is true.  If you push a flank, even in a great ship, and the other team lemming trains in the opposite direction, its really difficult to catch up to the herd.

The time and potential damage lost on an empty flank is almost impossible to make up.

Don't worry, you will eventually. I thought I'd never break 150k as well at one point, but my current damage record is 203k (210k if you count the PTS).

It's always been my belief that 'skill' can only take you so far...

Luck, potato enemy teams in general, and RNGesus waving his hand over an enemy and saying 'That isn't the droid enemy ship you're looking for,' when your dangerous ship is practically in their lap, (tunnel-vision, lack of map awareness,) I think are also occasionally significant factors...

The Missouri is a great ship and haven't regretted getting mine at all.

I've managed to break 200K at least once in mine during a Co-Op match. Regardless though she's a great ship.

The vast majority of my "good" games in BBs like the Tirpitz or Iowa are around the 125k mark.  It's bizarre how I keep hitting that number.

RNGesus reigns supreme.  One mans devestating strike is another man's six bounced shells.

I almost always get 100k damage, but never more than 150k. Just cant seem to break that number, especially considering how poorly I've neen playing recently.

Having a similar experience myself.  I am averaging about 70k damage with her with a good match for me hitting the 90k damage mark and honestly have been very, very disappointed in the earning potential of the ship.  Out of 31 matches using either the zulu flag (+20% bonus to credits), the Ocean Soul camo (+20% to credits) or both and have only had 5 matches break 500k gross earnings.  If I strip the flag and camo bonus, I am averaging 350k per match with her which is something I can do all day, every day on the Tirpitz with about half the effort invested while having a alot more fun.

Honestly I kind of feel the reviewers have led me astry a bit especially since one reviewer mentioned that he just sort of derped around with the Missiouri trying the lower end of its earning potential and claimed a bad match would bring in at least 400k credits.   Based on the reviews and the comment about 400k bottom end earnings for a bad game, I was expecting a bad 50-60k damage game to earn me 400k credits, my average game of about 80k damage to be earning me 500-600k credits and exceptional 120k plus damage games getting me into the 700-800k range or higher which is what convinced me to drop 24,000 gold to convert the XP.  If I knew then what I know now...I wouldn't have done it.

Not knocking the reviews because I really appreciate what they do but I think the issue alot of time with their reviews is that they are generally very good to exceptional players so to them a 80-90k damage game is a bad game which they just derped around in.  However to an average or maybe even a below average player (which is the case for me and the Missouri, I just can't get the ship to preform at the standards of all my other BBs), that might be an exceptional game for them.  I think this is what happened in my case and the way it is looking is that I am stuck with a $100 ship that I might end up not playing because I earn less in it than I do in my Tirpitz.

So to anyone reading the post of mine.  BUYER BEWARE!!!  If you are not GOOD with the Iowa or are just an average player, your probably not going to be breaking the bank in the Missouri like every review, video and comments seems to make out that it can do. Your mileage may vary greatly depending on skill.

Unfortunately I'm still trying for that first 200k game, but I set my new damage record last night in the MO and was about to get 200k and the Kracken on the last living Zao who was coming around an island in front of me at low health and broadside at 5 km.  Problem is we had all the caps and won on points just as I was about to fire off the last volley :( he had literally just used his torps to try to get our surviving DD too so I was in no actual danger

I know this kind of game is normal for some people but it felt like a big accomplishment for me

You bring up a very good point that all of us reviewers can and should take to heart.  When I do my reviews I try as hard as I can to give the average joe approach, rather than a super unicum approach.  Even for myself I sometimes forget that while a 40,000k round in a BB might me as for me, that's not the case for everyone else.  So I'll caveat the Missouri's credit earning potential, like any other ship, is tied to skill.  However, you will still earn more in it than an Iowa for the same exact round played.

I wouldn't say it's normal for anyone.  Even the most popular super unicum players.  It may seem that they throw up 200k + a lot, but you never see the rounds they don't hit that number.  They also play significantly more games.  So o don't care who you are...  that's a hell of a round.
