LOVING the Bismarck!

Got my Bismarck around a week or couple days ago. Maxed it out a couple days after.

Today I've had 2 really amazing rounds in it.

I found out my new favorite battleship.

eYHMlf8.jpg  This one was a weird match. I accidently killed a Leander, Lo Yang, and Hipper with my 10.6 km secondaries without noticing. I also killed a NM, Haguro, and NC

hSubkV8.jpgI was actually very lucky. A colorado shot me and I survived with a mere 1155 HP. I then used my heals to get back up. The battle for us was going very bad mid game, but then we turned the tide of battle.

(P.S can I get some help with the Kamikaze? I just got it since they are never selling it again and I want to keep it in my port. I've played with Isokaze and did very well in it pre nerf, getting 7 kills and 194k damage in it once. After getting better with battleships, some of my skill went away. Kamikaze being tier 5 can be up tiered in tier 7 where I feel is kinda lack luster. I know it's not the ship's fault, it's my fault. Any tips?)

I hope the Bismarck is great....I just got to tier 7 in the line and coming from the Scharnhorst and Bayern experiences I am not too impressed with the Gneisenau - but I only have 3 games (but fully upgraded).  I've heard the Gneisenau is good so it must be bad luck in 3 games.

I don't like my bismark. Was soooooo excited for it and I suck badly in it. I liked the gneisenau a lot more.

My bis is also bad luck for MM. I'm sure 90% of my games are chuck full of T10.

Kamikaze

If you've got a 15 point captain, stealth up and go troll unaware targets. Be ready however to zip in close for an ambush; at least if you;re used to that kind of thing.

Not a fan of the style of play Bismarck promotes but I can see that she is enjoyable to play.

Use your guns with Kami if you are in a dry spell with torp hits, smoke and spam works pretty well and helps set up easy torp hits. I play my Kami with a pre nerf Fubuki setup(the t8 one), her guns are very good.

Otherwise... Just play hyper aggressive imo.

Kami (and her sisters) are pure torpedo boats, your guns are not your friends and are emergency only.

With CE on a 15 point Captain, her detection range is 5.4; use it ruthlessly to close and shoot.

Avoid situations where, if discovered, you cannot extract yourself quickly; stealth is life for Kami.

Your torps are good; most BB Captains are not, so bet on the former.

Invest in premium smoke, and use it for you.

Hey

I love (usually) my Gneisenau but my Bismarck is another story, very love/hate (mostly hate).  I have so far just the "A" hull, propulsion upgrade, main arm. 1, secondary battery 2, damage control 1, steering gears 2,  and on the captain, artillery, expert loader, expert marksman, secondary armament, basic firing training, ship survivability, basics and fire prevention.

What is better to have:  Target acquisition system mod1 or Concealment mod 1, and what else or different from what I have selected.  I do like up close battling other battleships but seems I usually get burned to death by cruisers and DD's before I can kill them, hence why many guys stay at extreme ranges which to me is boring and the Bismarck can hit effectively past 12-14 km range anyways.  And there isn't enough speed to escape and turning is sluggish at best.  Aiming is different from the Gneisenau and I haven't figured it out effectively yet.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Pete

Saldy, this will VERY much change with the horrid radar skill and nerfing of consumables :(  But I find I light decent fires with my Fujin while I wait for torpedos or just to piss someone close by off

Gneisenau is an acquired taste.

I loved it right off the bat, which is good, because I was anticipating a beefed-up Myogi grind.

I think it's because, for say, the last 1/3 of the Bayern grind, (which I ended up keeping BTW) I was finally getting comfortable with getting up in somebody's grille. Not that I was a sniper before, but closing in past 10km made me nervous lol. TBH, I haven't even bothered with the FCS upgrade for it, I'll get it after I unlock Bismarck.

Not that I'm super good with it or anything, but I enjoy playing it, and it performs on par with my other T7 BBs.

Same here.  Lots of downtiered matches lately with my Bismark.  It's unlucky, out of the 3 Tier 8's, the Bismark is the one that gets down tiered the most.

Bismarck is op. Pack up with some destroyers and own some caps (preferably gunboats). With hydro and your secondaries anyone that gets close is going to run away in flames. Just try to position yourself in a way that the entire red fleet Cant shoot your sides and you are golden. If you are getting less than 100 secondary hits, you aren't close enough. Your armor is for brawling and you are bad at long range shootouts. 8 barrels, bad dispersion, plunging fire is a weakness.

My favorite part of that was the carrier targeting you early and often. Bismarck has strong AA. Also notable was the Tirpitz going broadside and then running.  At that point his only chance was charging you. Just a perfect example of the panic this ship causes.
