What to do, burn the free XP from Missouri for CO?

I have vague recollection of grinding this ship in CBT and having nightmares about it. Has it gotten better or should I burn some of the free XP I've been saving for Missouri for Colorado?

Tough it out or go for it?

Colorado has improved a LOT from CBT. With the previous version yes, skipping it was the best option. But now the colo is actually playable, not an excellent ship but not bad neither.

Regards

Its been buffed here and there but with Gnes, Leander, Saipan and Scharn all in the current meta, it will probably be just as painful. Not even mentioning the VIII and IX counterparts.

Basically the ship itself has gotten better, the meta just may not as forgiving. You'll feel outpaced and outplayed as you got no "distinct" advantage in matchups but you can make it work

Guys are missing the question. Should I grind this thing stock out the gate or burn my free XP to atleast get all the modules unlocked?

Kept my Colorado even though I'm in the NC now. Stock grind is a [edited]but once upgraded, you should be fine.

Edit: get the B Hull at least.

Honestly, the horror stories aren't really valid anymore. I'm on my NC now, and the Colorado grind, despite my joining in on the "Cholerado" and "Lolerado" joking, it's not a bad ship. She's a brawler, I didn't even play her right and I enjoyed her most of the time.

As others said stock sucks [edited], but once you get past it its nice. I didn't bother keeping it tho, as I didn't get as much credit income as New Mexico.

You should grind her out, Missouri is much more worth it.

Maybe just get the B Hull and the engine upgrade, you won't really see much of a difference if you don't have some AA and have a shorter range.

She's a bit rough stock.  Especially if you are coming from a fully upgraded New Mexico.  That being said once upgraded she became one of my favorites.  Except shes slooooow but you should be used to that by now.

I never knew the old prebuff Colorado but I had some ridiculous stats in it before I sold it. Its a good ship with solid guns but you just have to position her correctly and use the repair liberally.

Do your sanity a favor and free XP the C hull and engine upgrade.

The investment is fairly minor in the grand hunt for MO.

It's a very rough grind stock. It has 4k less HP and is 3kts slower than the New Mexico (fully upgraded) and only shoots 15.2km (.3 higher than the NM). The jump to the 406's is glorious but IMO, I'd consider burning some free XP for propulsion. If you have lots of Papa Papa flags to burn, that makes the decision easier.

Probably true. I mean I have plenty of free XP camos and about 100 papa flags hanging around. Probably should atleast get the engines.

I would look at it from another POV... if you give in to temptation now, the Mighty Mo is that farther down the road. You can get the Colorado any time... ANY time... big sale or something you know... with the upcoming skill changes and who knows what else I'd say keep on saving for the Mo.

Of course if you have only say 50K saved... reflect on the effort/time it took to get there. If you think you want do it again then by all means spend your xp... I have gotten to the place where, as others often said but I could not believe, I don't even look at free xp. If I do, I spend it. :-)

I ground through Colorado to North Carolina, and dumped Colorado as soon as I got the T8. Even upgraded, she was painful to play because of her dispersion and slug-like speed. I will not be re-acquiring her either.

Colorado is a good ship, easily crashes Nagato in a brawl and it would crush the Germans of the tier too if they did not have torpedoes. Under no circumstances waste any free xp on anything but saving up for the Missouri.

I rather enjoyed the Colorado and selling it is a regret of mine. Even if you don't like it, the NC is a fantastic ship and well worth the grind (ditto the Iowa).

Makes you kind of wonder... how many Mighty Mo will be slipping out of their docks come oh, say 1 July. And then again, by Christmas next year. Hmm....

Still debating if I should skip the stock hull of Amagi, but that might not be an issue soon.

I've gotten to where I just grind through the stock modules. Probably because I still haven't decided if I'm going to get the MO yet.

If you do plan to Colorado, get the engine, B hull, and range module as soon as you can by any means. Use free xp or dress her up real nice for your first few times out on the dance floor.

She is the best and harshest teacher on the fundamentals of tanking, positioning, and shooting in a BB. These lessons are worth learning again before stepping into T8 (for those who are getting into high-tier matches through this line). Just today my CO took 10k damage from a broadside NC and dealt 36k in return. Like Derpitzes (however you pluralize that), I've seen a fair share of NCs that have no idea what they are doing, and it makes me think that they skipped through the whole line just to get to a "good" ship and never learned how to play.
