Time to give out tickets for illegal camping

This is gonna sound salty, but it is more confused than anything.

I just don't get it. This is a fighting game and you wuss BB drivers run to the corners at the first sigh of trouble. It is like dropping 25 cents into a Mortal Kombat machine and doing back flips the whole time in the hopes you make Scorpion dizzy. You either lose when the other team caps and win, lose when the people like me that do the fighting die, and you get hunted down like a dog, or the game times out and you lose on points. Now kids, what word did I use the most just now? Right! LOSE!

"But...others won't push with me and I'll die." So? This game doesn't even cost you a quarter every time you play. IF more people start playing like they should, the meta will change, and this B.S. will go away.

In order to "help" the "special" ones get with program, I think we need to change the reporting system. We need to be able to give people tickets for camping in the back. If you get 5 warnings, the usual awe inspiring sound tract that Wargaming uses gets replaced with this:

Yep, you listen to that over and over and over, till you grow a pair and get yourself a Close Quarter expert medal. "But that's to hard!" Whatever, the last one I got was in a Belfast.

"Damn the torpedoes and push you candy asses!"

The Onion knight has spoken...

People is "special" in many ways.

Yesterday I was in coop grinding XP with stock Fubuki, 3 out 7 ships in my team proceeded to cleanly flank the enemy bots (not really hard, they seem to always come straight ahead to our cap) and rushed to cap without firing a shoot. Believe it or not we won that match by capping the bots, and I'm very very sure that's regular gameplay for those guys. So, somebody out there has satisfaction capping the bots every match, I bet it works.

Sniping BBs? at least they shot.

I go out of my way to go after ships parked 20k out doing the Bow tank thing, sitting in smoke spamming or doing the invisible fire thing. Many times to my detriment but I don't care, I consider it a public service....

My cat almost got to my cheese stick I was so dumbfounded by your story. How can people go into Co-op, just to cap?? Even just typing that out made my head hurt. I can't even fathom that.

As for the OP, I like your suggestion, but I think that getting a ram kill should also remove the new soundtrack. Maybe getting a torp kill with torps that have a range of 6km or less, but that one is open for debate.

Or a couple BB's that start on the far west side of a map will turn tail and run to the exact opposite side of the map just so they can be with their BBuddies, leaving a flank weak.

Most people in these threads don't even understand why battleship players do this.

Between their cowardice and difficulty of getting players to support in their CA/DD, it's a real mess trying to change this stupid meta.

Unless they say they're with me in team chat or division, I generally refuse to push in Bismarck or NC.

Most people in these threads don't even understand why battleship players do this.

Some are genuine cowards, other stupidly think max range = fight at this range, and rest like me are sick charging only to be alone and BBQ'd by half the red team.

Listen Admiral OP, you cant make people play the way you want.     Get over it.

I don't care how you play, as long as its a winning strategy. You camp, you lose. Easy. Like to lose? As you where then...

Your second post on this and you still haven't told us why.

Your second post on this and you still haven't told us why.

There are currently 2 or 3 threads running on this same topic, no need for another one.

self preservation and to maintain the ability to effect a match.

I understand, poorly, the armor mechanics. But... It still makes it no less annoying

Your second post on this and you still haven't told us why.

Because the last 15 times I've said it in assorted threads haven't sunk in and I'm sick of repeating myself.

I'm a highly aggressive player, especially in battleships. I love to push. I love the sound of my secondaries going nuts on the sides of my Yamato. But I won't push anymore. I've been burned too many times by the paralysis of other players and their complete unwillingness to join the attack. As a result, I get focused down. Where if I had 3-4 allies with me, we would've won the engagement with no losses at all.

This is one of those threads so I don't see what the problem is.

So in other words it is cowardice just not your cowardice. Not really seeing a difference here since in the end the camping was caused by cowardice.

You know what good that'll do? Absolutely none. Theres no game mechanic you can add. No tutorial you can show them. Nothing you can do will change them. Stupidity is forever, and that's that

I'm with you.  I hunt them down like the cowardly dogs they are.  Even if I get sunk, I still have the satisfaction of knowing I wasn't a coward.

"I've learned people won't support my playing aggressively and I'm left to get myself annihilated. Since they won't make my brawling work, I'm just going to snipe. Unless I'm with a player I can trust will support me, I know better than to play aggressive."

In other words, the other players' cowardice forces me to be a coward in order to survive (and hopefully contribute) or die quickly for nothing. I'm forced to choose between camping or dying quickly. And I resent those stinking wussies for taking the fun out of the game.

What bothers me is the people who assume every battleship does this just because they want to, throwing out accusations such as you see in this very thread, that all battleships are just cowards.

Sure, some do, but I'm willing to bet the majority are just sick of being abandoned by untrustworthy teammates.

I'm not a coward. I just can't rely on my team to back me up when I do go ham.

Pushing with the low-speed USN standard BBs up to T7 makes you a slow moving target for DDs unless you are very good at taking out DDs with 14-inch guns because the secondaries need a flag to be anything near to useful inside 6-8km. Push anyway. You may get sunk two times out of three but you can really dish it out to the CA/CL crowd at 9-12km, and handle the enemy's BBs in a pinch. As for cruisers, they are all glass cannons and you need to tank (ie, get inside IJN torpedo range) to kill the DDs, which is you job. As for VMF cruisers, they all have stalinium shells but weak armor so they hang back and outrange everything except the BBs! Make them priority targets. Pushing as a team will get you the win more than 50% of the time. If the team won't push, you cannot win it on you own. Live with it.

Getting hung out to dry last night is why I guess this was on my mind as I lay in bed not sleeping. Myself and a Wyoming got left by half our team AFTER it seemed we had agreed to push. I had even loaded HE in my Ishi to blast DDs with, and barbecue BBs with. Ganged up on a sunk. :(

Just a quick question: Since when is camping illegal? Sure, it's frustrating, but it's NOT illegal. If that were the case there would be hardly and BBs at all, due to all the BB captains being banned. If you think that it should be illegal, then you need a snug fitting straight jacket. All these BB captains are just playing the way they think is best. Whether what they're actually doing is the best course of action or not is debatable. But unless you can convince them otherwise(which I doubt you can), they're not gonna change. All you have to do is carry the team harder. You can't fix stupidity. Only put a band-aid over the hole and hope it gets the job done.
