Lots added in but frankly I'm growing tired of these booster bundles. I've bought lots, and lots... and lots. But sometimes, I just want the ship.

Didn't I read somewhere that they were getting away from selling these ultimate bundles first and were looking at just releasing the whole lineup of packages?

Hook isn't nearly far enough in my mouth to bite on this one.

It'll be $23.00 on the 9th. Supposedly.

The bundles are really about the extra stuff rather then the ship... And also early access to the second campaign with all the swag it has.

All fair assessments... I guess they have to keep their doors open.

Some people have more money than time and I choose to invest neither at the current rates.

The bundle is basically 99 dollars worth of stuff with a free Graf Spee thrown in.

I did not buy it because I did not feel I could throw 99 dollars at a game right now. Then I ended up spending almost that much on shipsmas bundles.

WG is masterful at squeezing money out of me.

I'm waiting till the first or second price drop before I buy.

I'm mainly buying because I'm not that confident in my ability to complete the second campaign in the time if I spend none at all.

Yes,after the complaints from the Prinz Eugen being sold this way Boyarsky claimed that the community had been heard:

http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/95571-comments-on-prinz-eugen-from-na-publishing-team/

Commanders,
We noticed some of you were confused by the way we released Prinz Eugen last Friday and we want to clear up any misconceptions around her gameplay design, economic benefits and the staggered bundle release structure.

We do realize that while this ship may not add much to gameplay diversity due to her similarity to the Admiral Hipper, there are additional factors which resulted in our decision to include her.

Firstly, Prinz Eugen has significant place in history and many players in our community requested her to be added to the game. She was similar to Hipper historically and after internal debates we decided to go with historically accurate design. It was important to us to be straight about this fact in the Spotlight Article to make sure you know what you are paying for.

Second, as with any other Premium ship, Prinz Eugen offers +50% XP and +50% Commander XP with an additional bonus camo giving an additional 50% Commander XP bonus on top of that, for a +100% Commander XP total boost. This leaves her unmatched in speedily training German Commanders, and has since been clarified in the article. Although this benefit is unrelated to gameplay, we wanted to test its impact on perceived value of the ship.

Third, the staggered release approach is an experiment and we constantly adjusting our methods to learn what works and what doesn't. Our intention was to deliver additional value to the players who purchased the Deluxe and Fully Loaded bundles in the form of earlier access to the ship. We had concerns that this design might upset buyers of the "bare bones" bundle, but didn't anticipate the magnitude.

And as with all our experiments, this is a learning moment for us which we will to take into account with future bundles.
Please rest assured: your feedback is heard and appreciated.

The decision was obviously WG made to much money our of doing it this way and stuff the community.

The Spee is the last of the German ships I have been waiting on the most in this game, but I'll be waiting till the end to get the cheapest bundle.

Merry Christmas to all, and with the holidays here and family coming in from everywhere just don't have time to play the missions to get free Graf Spee. So will wait to buy her, now whether to buy full bundle for 99$, or just buy the Graf Spee for 23$, well comes down to whether I what to spend that much for an already fully built out ship with all the bells and whistles, or do I want to enjoy building her out myself. Comments or thoughts.

They did listen, to both sides.  The Bundles sell and make them more money, but they also listened to the people who want it unbundled.  You are paying for a Bundle of stuff, and early access.  If you can wait, you can buy it for $23, or if you have more money than time, you can get it free.

All in all, this is an extremely fair way to do this.  By Febuary, everyone who wants one will have one, you just lose bragging rights for being frugal, or for grinding it rather than purchasing it.

In this case, I did end up buying it. Since the rest of the bundle is actually a deal to get some premium time and doubloons, I thought why not. Also, by getting the Spee early, I can complete the Christmas Convoy comfortably. You do get some doubloons, 4 premium camos, and ships (I don't own a Buddy or a Farragut) for completing that Campaign.

So paying 30 USD for a ship, even if you get it for free by doing the other Campaign (Hunt for Spee), is still worth it, by gaining assurance of completing the Convoy Campaign, and getting all those other goodies for free.

How can anyone complain about the Graf Spee?

It's the best all around deal; those who want it NOW can get it, along with a lot of cool stuff (valued at over $110 in another thread). Then the second bundle gets released, with goodies. Then the final ship only for $23.xx.

OR...you can do the missions and get it FREE.

This is what adults call, "having options." If you want to acquire the ship, you can in a lot of different ways. How on earth is this bad?

Please save complaints for real issues. This is a non issue. Free, 23.xx or bundled up to 99.xx. It's up to you.

Indeed, you speak reason, man. Even if you get it for free through the "Hunt for the Spee" Campaign, you still got 10 potential days to to complete the "Christmas Convoy" Campaign afterwards. So yes, you only really end up paying for the convenience of being able to complete the latter campaign with much more ample time.

For those missions that the pins include 400 hits, 10 torpedo hits, or destroy 15 modules, go co-op with an Atlanta if you have one. I blew thu the one that had 400 hits in a little over 2 hours. My highest hits in a match was 309 and it's easy to get 150-200 hits a match if you don't charge in and wait for the AI to come to your team mates.
