Why the difference between the two premium stores?

Why are the ships and items listed in the web store not offered in-game for doubloons?  The ships in the web store have a set $ price.  Doubloons have a price per $.  Therefore, it would be esy to convert the costs to doubloons and place all items for sale in-game.

 

Anyone else agree, or am I talking CRAZY?!

Because money that's why. They can make more of it by bundling a bunch of other pixels with the pixel ship you buy and make more money.

 

Besides it would make all the free doubloons they have been giving out too easy to buy ships.

Ships offered in game generally are there long term. Ships in the store often are limited time offers. Ships in game I think are in game across all countries. Ship in the store differ region to region. Ships in the game are managed by WG. Ships in the store are managed by your regional sales team.

I do think it's kind of dumb. I like how in WoT Console to buy any premium item, you must pay for it with gold, ergo any gold you acquire via any other means it usable to buy ANY premium item. Unlike in the PC WG games, where gold/doubloons have very limited uses.

really wish they would have some in-game store sales for ships. WOT and WOWP have them all the time. but hey, they're a company and they need to pay people, so I can't complain too much.....

In-game Premiums are ones WG feels are old enough to just leave for a steady trickle of sales (only exception being Atago, as she was an emergency replacement), while the newest and hottest are usually kept out of rotation for upwards of a year until they're finally made "permanent".  Permanent insofar as WG does plan to refresh the shop every so often to remove older Premiums and put newer ones in (the ones that they've already milked limited time sales off of).

 

Of course, the newest and hottest are left exclusively to the web shop, and it becomes a gamble debating whether to wait until it comes into the game or until it's re-released again (if ever).

Because not having such things available for doubloons devalues doubloons, and WG benefits by selling you a worthless currency.
