First off, sorry about the general formatting, grammar and spelling errors - short on time today.

I've broken this down into the "Batches," I've purchased, and at the bottom of the list I'll note the basic mechanics that I observed while...sciencing. I'll also just be pasting in my list from the other threads, and not editing it at all...

Also, I don't think 100 boxes is a significant enough sample size to make any predictive statements, but I'm not going to spend anymore money on this science. So these will just be observations and theory...

Observations:

1. There is no award or extra achievement for opening 100 Santa Presents. Nor in gifting 45 boxes.

 

2. Ishizuchi and Emden seem to be the most common ships given out (after breifly perusing other members lists and my own experience...) 

 

3. Premiums that are not available via the Santa presents - again, after breif persual of people's present lists, if I am wrong, please correct me: Tachibana, Smith, Mikasa, Cambleton,

Flint, Marblehead LIMA, Saipan, Missouri, Albany, Kamikaze/R, Fujin, ARP ships, Katori, Shinome, Tachibana LIMA, Tone, Yubari, Graf Spee, Konig Albert, Belfast, Perth, Daina, Aurora, Diana LIMA, Krasny Krym, Leningrad. Server specific ships (Dragons,) and un-released premiums, Alpha and 

Beta, and Super-Tester only ships are not available for obvious reasons.

 

4. Buying in single boxes and opening, and buying in batches does not seem to affect duplicat premium ships if you have all the available ships on the 'Santa List,' there will just be a much lower change to get a duplicate higher-value 

ship - and you'll get a bunch of Emden and Ishizuchi.

 

5. In regards to buying and opening one at a time to get as many premium ships as possible, I don't think it will matter in the long run if you buy and open in bulk vs. one at a time. And I doubt WG is going to give us any hints. I opened 

a second Indy, which based on available evidence is an uncommon gift compared to some of the other ships.

 

6. $1 boxes are an utter waste of money - there is a chance to get premium ships, and doubloons, but otherwise you get Flags and BAD camo. Well, unless you're grinding free XP, it's a bad camo. No concealment bonus, or enemy 

accuracy debuff bonus on it.

 

7. If you want some Camo, doubloons, and SOME flags, get the $3 boxes. (But see #9 on specific good camos)

 

8. If you don't want Flags at all, and just want Camo and Doubloons get the $5 boxes, with extra premium chances thrown in.

 

9. Restless Fire and Gamescon Camo, at least for me, was only available in the $5 boxes.  While the WOWS Anniversary was only in the $3 boxes.

 

10. You can get 25 Dragon Flags in the $3 containers, but in the $5 containers it's a 333 Flag drop. (Wish I got that a few more times...)

 

11. I was only ever awarded Premium time (180 days) in a single box. But it is available in 90-day increments and 180-day increments as far as I can tell.

 

12. Prizes for more Slots and Commander Reserve spaces do not seem to be a part of iths Secret Santa prize list.

 

13. Forum user Mytaru reports getting 333 Dragon Flags from a $3 box.  However, no one else that I've seen has gotten similar (only 25 flags from $3 boxes.)

 

14. If you have a small reserve....and want to buy a lot of boxes - make your reserve bigger so that you don't lose the 10 point captains from duplicate premium ships.

Ooops, forgot to put those two on the list! I haven't seen anyone open a Kamikaze (or R) so I'm reasonably sure they aren't going to be on the Santa List.

 

I wouldn't have expected the Kamikaze R to be on the list at all anyway. It was only sold after Project R, and like Kamikaze R, and unlike Fujin, the green Kamikaze's only been sold once on this server as well.

 

Perhaps next year then, we'll be able to get Kamikaze(and/or her sister ships) through Santa crates(since Gremmy and Nikolai were drops), if WG does a similar event.

I received Gamescon and Restless Fire from the $3 boxed... I think 25 each time...

 

I found the $3 boxes held the most value. The $5 boxes I just got camo from and the Marblehead. I think that's where I got my Gremy as well...

 

The $3 boxes I got a Tirpitz, Blyz, bunch of camo. bunch of dragon flags. It consistently was good drops for me.

 

Thanks for the science though. I will be trying more of my own when I get paid again next... lol

Honestly, I'm not sure. Without putting everyone's pulls into a matrix/spreadsheet thing and seeing which boxe gives the highest chance for a specific ship, I really can't answer your question: specific ship wanted, which box?

 

I'd recommend the $3 boxes, just because it gives you a much larger number of boxes to work with - but how the actual chances vary from $3 to $5, I can't say. I opened mostly $5 boxes because of the Camos, and chance of 333 dragon flags.

I'll get a list together aether and post up my findings. I purchased 100 packages but opened fewer, probably in the 60s range. I only opened 5 5 dollar crates and the remainder were 3.

The 3$ are ok. You get at least stuff for about 1000 gold value. The only good things from the 1$ boxes were 2 times 60 New Year camos. I tried some mixed boxes for about 40$. I got 2 ships out of them, a Lo Yang and a Itchy Zucchini. Oh and those 4k gold ofc.

From 14x$3 boxes I have received the following: Scharnhorst, Indy, Arizona, Warspite, Texas, Dresden, Ischizuchi, Sims. Purchased 4x$5 boxes and got an Atago.

So, ill have a reasonable number of $3 to compare to the $5 boxes.
