Again I don't make brag threads often, but the König may be my favorite ship, ever (especially since the Dunkerque, and all of the tier 5/6 MM is screwed). I average more damage in it than any other ship, save for my Yamato and my ARP Takao (which I have 1 battle in).

Did 127k damage in the König, getting a Kraken, 2 devstrikes, a Confederate, a Dreadnought, and a High Caliber medal in the process. Also did some insane torp dodging, and was fractions of a second away from getting rammed by an ARP Kongo.

Like this ship is ridiculously good. Is the general consensus that it's OP?

Konig is certainly one of my favorite tier 5s, along with Kongo and Furutaka.

I don't like Kongo but Konig, Furutaka and Texas are fantastic at t5. 

 

Konig has amazing accuracy and very solid armor protection so she can reliably dish out damage and not take as much in return. Generally, all German BBs are strongest in their tiers until t9-10.

I would highly recommend rebuying and playing as a leisure ship. With a bit of luck from MM she dominates matches. Even when I'm bottom tier, I can still make myself a huge threat, so long as I don't position poorly. Her armor makes her competitive even against higher tier ships. Only big threat is the higher tier CVs, but that goes for any BB really.

Its fun to do what you are doing.. If I had the space , I would post my best 3 battles, all losses, all in DD and all above 150K damage.  Happening more often too.  Losing that is..

Yeah I mean I've had plenty of outrageously good games and still lost. 10 times more so if you include my WoT games.

​I would love to do this with my Kagero, But I only killed 2 ships.. Never had more than 4 on anything yet.  Hoping get kraken etc. with a DD someday.  I like the speed of play with them.. I liked my Konig too now that I think of it.

If you want easy Krakens just play low tier IJN or VMF DDs. You can just rush the low tier cruisers and BBs and get torpedo them without fail at point blank range.

Got 4 with a St.Louis picking off others near kills.   Been watching my replays and following the mini map on others Krakens.  It seems like its best in a Belfast at distance. .IDK.  I don't have all that many premiiums and what I do have is low tier except a Lo Yang and I know that aint gonna likely do it.  I appreciate the advice.. might try again.

Overall BBs are probably the easiest class to get a Kraken in. Their high burst damage means you theoretically have more time in which to fire and finish off an enemy, securing the kill. Especially the tier 4-6, where the BBs generally have large numbers of guns and CLs have short ranges and are generally extremely fragile, with large citadels. Meaning you can get a lot of devstrikes on them, like I do in the replay.

i loved my Konig, and did better with her than almost any other BB (and I have everything up to Kurfurst.) She's a baby Scharn, in the sense that you have small but fast firing guns for a BB and have to switch ammo types to do dmg (I use HE far more than other BBs.) She's a blast
