how do you get race to the bottom?

I mean, do you need to HIT every class with torps, or do you need to KILL every class with torps?

I did not find it so easy.

 

First just finding a CV in Coop is a challenge.  In 24 games I saw 3. 

 

Then, when you do get a game with a CV in it, if you can find it, the second you do everyone on your team opens up on it and it's usually dead before you get there.

I thought I finally had it too when I lucked into a CV. Had to torp a DD (Which I was sure I did) to get it to pop.

I had two shots at it yesterday and decided to play for the team both times. First one my Cruiser was closing in on the CV but it's planes were preparing attacks on my teams CV so I used my cannons. 

 

Second one my team was on one side of the map, and I had a clear shot at the enemy carrier, but there were ships headed towards my CV so I circled my Hatsu back and screened it. 

 

I don't really feel bad about it but oh, so close

I don't think there's any consistent way to torpedo a CV in a random game.  You have to get close to an enemy CV without getting sunk and without the enemy CV being blown away by focused artillery fire from your team before your torpedoes can get there.  That basically requires a late-game situation where both you and the CV are lacking in support.

 

I got lucky in a game tonight in my Kagero.  Game on Estuary went into a tense late-game situation where both teams only had 2 ships left and we were racing around trading caps with each other.  Me and the enemy Ranger both went for the B cap at the same time.  Got my achievement, but I'd probably have to play quite a few games to see a situation like that happen again.
