It has been around 3 or 4 Month since I started to grind the USN DD. Great fun, Great Carry potential, Great Power I mean I was totally amused during whole grind of this line. I have seen the vids, and know there are people out there who do well with it; but in my limited experience with the ship I found it to be disappointing when compared to it's reputation. Don't try to play it as close in as you would the Fletcher. Don't contest a cap at the start unless there are few DDs. Wait and time your moments because this DD is squishy and will get wrecked or deleted when spotted and concentrated. It's fat and slow. You don't want to have that happen in the beginning of the game and be handicapped on HP all game. The Gearing gets more and more dangerous as the game goes on, so concentrate on opportunistic caps and damage in the beginning with little to no risk to your ship. Mid to late game you can get more bucky and get in there. When 3-5 of the enemy ships have been thinned out is when the Gearing really shines. Then, you can get in there and do some work. As already said, play a bit more carefully at the beginning. This boat really shines when the crowd thins out. Don't sell either the Benson or the Fletcher, both are really great boats.
