Rage quit WOWS for the first time ever today

I love few things more than this game, I'll semi-quote coach Vince Lombardi here in saying "God, Family, Football World of Warships. In that order". But today I have had just about enough!

 

First off, I have never loaded into a battle on time today (not counting training room battles) and the last battle I was just in I did not load in at all, I saw my teammates die one by one on the loading screen and rage-quit the game when I saw my name and ship go dark. What's worse is the previous battle I did zero damage in my T-22 because I was half murdered by an Atlanta as soon as I managed to finally load into the battle and could do nothing but launch torpedoes before i died, all of which missed.

 

Speaking of the T-22, I have played 5 battles in her today, and not a single one of those battles did not include a tier 7. Now I'm not saying that I should never see tier 7's in my T-22... but 5 out of 5?? Really?? Second, the T-22 is the smallest destroyer at tier 5 and has the smallest guns.... it should have better stealth than it does.

 

T-22 is/was the only ship I was really looking forward to (since Z-23's completely [edited] up aesthetically) and she's been ruined by these late loading times, 2 of the 5 battles I've had with her have been zero damage games because of late loading times! Because of this my avg dmg per battle in her is only 13,312 when it should be closer to 35,000 (the amount of damage I did in the two games where I did not die instantly to late loading times and/or terrible stealth)

 

None of this is helped by the fact that since the patch dropped smoke does not come out of my funnels or guns (when fired). I have touched nothing in setting save for a few audio sliders.

 

Yes, this is a whine thread. I'll get over it. But I have never been forced to the point of rage quit in WOWS... ever!! So I felt that this historic moment needed to be posted to the forums. Also because I needed to vent.

 

Looks like I'll be limited to training battles only for the time being. I'll not have my stats ruined by these damned late loading times!

Similarly... I've had my game straight up not load on me three times today, requiring a restart; and then I discovered that I have a VRAM issue with the game that can only be resolved by reinstalling the entire thing. You've got my sympathies.

I'm loading in much faster now since last week when I did a factory default wipe after saving my files. I haven't load in past 30sec late so far. Before the wipe, I was loading in 1-2min late

Wait, I can do a default factory wipe and not lose any games or pictures saved to my computer? How? Note: I have a Dell laptop

Factory default is a complete wipe of your files and it put your computer just like it came brand new from the box

Yes I know, but the way you phrased it made it sound like I could do that and still have WOWS on my computer.

Chin up mate, I had a bad spell with my internet dying every 30-35 minutes a couple of weeks ago, just when you thought it was back 'poof'. I think half my 'Did not prove yourself this battle' results came from that. Nearly put a fist through the screen. 5 in thousands of games is perspective.

 

It'll get better, can't advise you technically on what the problem might be but I'm sure it can be sorted. If you do a factory wipe I'm certain you'll need to re-install all games and unless you back up photo's to an external hard drive you'll lose those too.

 

Haven't played in a couple of weeks, can't comment on T-22 but hope it clicks. Why no love for the Z1/1934 class?

Lets blame the player and not WGs servers which have been an issue and problem since the games inception.

Why no love for the Z1/1934 class?

 

Eh, it's ok. Just doesnt have the smooth lines of the Flottentorpedoboot Type 1939 and (historical) Type 1936A. It lacks their Atlantic bow and overall streamlined appearance. At least in my eyes. Dont get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with her, just wasnt as hyped as I was about possible seeing the Type 1939 and Type 1936's in game. In any event I certainly prefer the Leberecht Mass over the Z-23 as they are in game... that physics-defying unhistorical eyesore of an AA platform off the rear of the forward funnel of the Z-23 just completely ruins the whole ship for me.

Video I made to another rage quitter. Going to make a better video that is more general later after Christmas probably. This one applies to you too because you made yourself a specialist player and as i say in the video, that is when you set yourself up for the most frustration.

I am beginning to think I must be about the only person in the game to actually like T-22/Elbing as she is. I did pretty alright, the first 3 games I played with her were all 100k+ damage. Until the game I forgot me old detonation flag.

I usually log out after a loss, ang log in and out a few times to clear MM of my history. Once I get a good session, I play and usually get better teams.

 

Yes, MM IS session based with some hysteresis (I think it's around 3 or 4 sessions).

Indeed, the matchmaking tends to be flooded by thousands of players trying out the new ships, some do well in them, and others flop onto the floor. The rush will continue like this for a few weeks until the players spread out in the tiers, or move back more traditional ships.

  Yup- it takes all of my control not to throw my laptop at the wall sometimes...

 

  Yesterday was lag central.  I was completely useless in several battles because of it!

Just as a reminder, if you're using any mods uninstall them all and reinstall the essential ones one by one.  I have had old mods delay loading or even freeze the game for me a few times (mainly just stick to skin mods now).

 

Aside from that, consider using an SSD for your WoWs installation if you can; several swear their loading times went down due to the system being able to read the files faster.

The T-22 seems to be a good boat to me. Played a few games in her, the first one I was about to land 4 torp hits, second one got whacked right away and third got 4-5 torp hits. It can invisa-torp pretty well.

I'm personally lucky my new comp came with an SSD installed, but I do remember the pain of my old computer's super late load ins and am betting wargaming done [edited] up yet again like they did with the OBT patch.

No problems loading in. A Dell laptop is not the best 'puter for gaming. if you can't build a PC, Cyberpower is your best bet.

With the Dell you should have 2 options for a Factory Reset. Ones wipes everything; the other keeps all your files
