I'd say DE. If CVs were more common, then AFT would be a contender.

Half the games I've played in mine, (admittedly not a lot) I wished I had hydro instead of DF.

I prefer Demolition Expert as well. American HE is quite good, but don't forget that Pensacola has excellent AP characteristics and faces enemies that are quite vulnerable to AP hitting their sides.

AFT is only a decent choice when you can count on encountering enemy carriers. Pensacola's main AA power is in the mid-range 40mm Bofors, which doesn't have great range for the purpose of escort.

AFT. You are a support ship.

Although I now have an 18 point DM/Atlanta/Flint commander and I tripled up on AFT, Manual AA, and DE.

I went with DE on mine.

Not enough carriers to make AFT worth it most of the time.

Well when I went through the Pensacola I saw carriers routinely so I had AFT which was a big help. With carriers as a dying breed, AFT becomes more attractive.

I'm almost constantly using AP in Pensacola, so DE is no help.

Get AFT. You don't always see carriers, but when you do, you'll be glad to have it.
