Dumb question about BB manual secondaries

I had been running my Bismark with both DE and AFT at four, using the standard secondaries.  I decided to respec my captain and try manual secondaries.

I can't get the damn thing to work.  Directions say control + left mouse button, or control + click on the designated target.  I can't figure out target designating, and it's frustrating the hell out of me.  A Bismark with no secondaries at all is a big fat target.

Idk works for me. When you click control, does the mouse curse show up on screen? Just use the mouse icon to click the ship and it will be targeted.

Maybe that's it.  I'm holding down Control and trying to click or target.  The standard target designated highlight is up.  I'll try just single clicking control and see.  Thanks.

It is as it says, you hit ctr and click on the enemy ship.

I am sorry I didn't specify. You do need to hold down control. Ctrl

Remember DE only gives fire chance to main battery guns. Be sure to take AFT the second time around.

I had, and have, AFT.  I just swapped out DE and a point for manual secondaries.

Sometimes it can be easier to click on the nameplate than the ship itself

Are you confusing the targeting reticle with the cursor? Holding control brings up the cursor

It's the same as how you designate AA fire, except with ships.

 

Hold Control and click the ship with your mouse cursor.
