It was done last year via a random shop click event. Problem with it is there are A)Hobo's like me who arn't american so everything costs more (stupid low dollar.... B) People who will abuse such an event. C) The shop is pretty set atm as to what is there and if someone has something they get randomly it will turn to gold or credit which would be cheaper to get solo. You are now banned. They can do this from an alt account also. Never accept a Gift unless you know the reputation of the player.. and what account they sent it from. Cause if it didn't it could be very easily exploited. 1. Create fake WOWS account 2. Use stolen CC to gift ships, dubs, etc. to your real account 3. CC gets marked as stolen, funds get charged back, fake account gets locked. So in that scenario, tell me why you wouldn't also ban/lock the account the items were gifted to? Whoever has the goods is ultimately responsible for payment. If it was the other way around, we could create a brand new account, gift ship to the main, charge back, get that throw-away account banned, create another account...and so on. This is if you've played the ship even just one match before the charge back. If you haven't played the ship before the charge back, then you're good. And you get banned because WG does not take back premium ships once they are played/used. They basically see it as you either scamming them for a free ship, or testing out a premium ship to see if you really want it or not. Which is not allowed. So don't accept gifts from players you do not know. Because if you get banned because you played said premium ship and the player that gifted it you does a charge back, then both accounts are banned unless either you pay WG for the ship that was gifted to you, or you convince the player that gifted it to you to finally pay WG. There's a forum member on here that is stuck in this same situation right now. He can't afford to pay WG back for the ship that was gifted to him after the account that gifted it to him did a charge back. It's called account targeting. Some person will get mad at another player, so they'll make a fake account and then gift the person they're mad at a ship from the fake account, then do a charge back and the player they were mad at will have their account banned, while the player that did it is unaffected because they did it from a fake account and not their real account. Now that you explain it like that I can see a lot of people going to all that trouble to get another player banned. No, really! That gifting a tank with stolen credit cards was a kind of "popular" at WoT a few years ago that WG has given a special warning about accepting gifts from strangers.
