Hi all!

I was talking to someone on WoWP, and i had made some stupid comment like "Anyone else excited for WoWS?" And this player (i forget who it was) asked me if i applied for alpha yet. Naturally, i thought, "OH! you apply for alpha?", and they said that you did have to... I have been searching the WoWS forum for posts that support this, and i have been unable to find ANYTHING.

So... am i blind? or is this player trolling me?

Thnx all!

Alpha applications are currently closed. The person is correct, because you did need to apply, but it was only open when they were actively recruiting members in.

It's not a bad question at all. They only had the thread open for a couple of days and it closed shortly after they reached the 1000 application mark I believe.

Nah, it's not a moron thing, but you may want to check out the wiki which is linked in my sig. Should help you answer more of your questions should they arise.

Ahem...and who gave you authority to state that Alpha is indeed "closed" Are we a true WG employee? No? Then you honestly don't know.

Nobody has to give him the authority to state that alpha is closed since the application thread is clearly closed and they are not accepting anymore applications at this time. Common sense was used in that sentence unlike yours.

This is true.

The thread is one of the methods they invite people.

Nobody gave me the authority, and as much as I would like to work for WG, they don't have an office in Toronto that I know about.

My biggest hint that it was closed, had to be the thread that is titled "Recruitment Suspended."

Common sense is a wonderful thing, as is actually browsing the forums.

If Alpha was open they would have a link to it on the portal.  Just curious, have you ever seen an "open" Alpha?

Closed Alpha > Closed Beta > Open Beta > Release, is the progression that I am familiar with.

You would find a lot of game in steam claim that they are in alpha test but you can buy/F2P

What's funny is that we tend to look at others through our own perspective and think why didn't they do this or that. After all its just "common sense," but let's break this word down.

The first word is "Common" and is best defined in our context; as something done by many. Our second word is "Sense" and is best defined, as something experienced.

What we often fail to consider is that the person in question may not have done or experienced the same things as us. There for it isn't common to them and until it is it will make no sense.

So if we take a little time to teach them, then perhaps it will start to make some sense.:honoring:

Good Hunting,

Sadly common sense is not particularly common nowadays.

I work in the food business and if I had a pound (GBP) for every time a customer asked something stupid like, "does this vegetarian dish have any meat in it?" throughout the years, then I would a richer guy. There's no experience needed for stuff like that, only a semblance of logical thought to work out that something named 'vegetarian spring rolls' is not going to have meat in it.

Currently, they are not taking applications for Alpha. I'd guess that they may for Open Alpha, but best bet would be Closed Beta someday.

Open Alpha is an oxymoron. It will be closed beta after alpha.
