stat shaming in the middle of the match...while still alive. i mean i just find it a bit odd. i mean i know im a meh player and throwing out there in the chat doesnt really do much other get the reaction "oh look a stat [edited]". hell its not even about me it just seems weird to put your teammates down at the start of the battle cuz stats. i mean i can get seeing if your teamates stats dont inspire ya but why the need the berate and likely increase how said player doing badly(be it to troll, stress, or something)

Not new at all but we have less of them here than they do in WoT. Report them for misbehavior in chat and then mute them. If you are lucky someone else on yours or the enemy team will get tired of the ranting and also report them for misbehavior in chat and get then a chat ban.

It's more than likely some in game overcompensation for some real world stat they can't master.

Like the "yearly income stat" or the "I raised three kids and managed to not kill even one of them" stat.

Hell I don't even look at my stats, I certainly couldn't give a rats pitoot about anyone else's. Just ignore em.

At least if someone says X player's stats suck - there is some actual evidence to back up such a claim.

 

I mean really, my stats look like utter crap right now, I have been grinding 3 ships I hate and play poorly in and my WTR and WR are falling like bricks fly - even worse now every time I post my stats are all colorful and ugly. 

 

If someone is making fun of your stats it should just be motivation to top the leader board that game, or if you die regardless, go look them up and inform them that at least you have the nuts to not keep your stats public and why are theirs hidden?

 

If it is some solid purple unicum telling you that you suck....then I would suggest 9 out of 10 times it started out as more of an observation and recommendation than just X player sucks look at his Christmas tree stat page.

End of story, they can assume your bad, but they really cant say anything without looking stupid.

 

Ive said this 100x at least, players stat's should be private by default till they chose to share them.

Bottom line is: Your stats are meaningless in the game at hand, whether they are good or bad. What matters is how you're doing in this game.

Edit: I am searching for my answer but so far I just see people saying that the hidden stats are screwing with the API, I would really like to know if it was banned by WG or if it is currently just beyond most people's ability?

They allow them but the person that did have an XVM style mod quit updating it after people were able to hide their stats.

Now if someone is talking a lot of crap sometimes stats are checked to put an idiot in their place but that is to be expected. If someone just goes and looks up stats with the intent to shame and humiliate that is uncalled for and douchy but if someone tries to give you sound advice in the interest of getting a win for the team and the response is douchy and childish then yea, people will use your bad stats against you. I see it as an attempt at a wake up call more than putting someone down. The bottom line of this whole convo is the intent though and nothing else. I have seen stats used to help people way way more than them ever being used to put people down and if I have ever seen them pulled up in the middle of a match it was for a reason.

Why arent stats an opt in instead of opt out.

My reasons for not liking XVM style of mods are not related to shaming.  Most players driving arty (or CV in this game) will naturally prioritize shooting player with better stats.  I found this to be unfair to the player with great stats in most situations.

im all for when people offer advice to get better but its usually not postive people looking up stats. in my case ive noticed i get stat checked it seems to be cuz im a cv. sure im meh but one has to start somewhere and besides when people start saying crap about stats at the start its usually just a [edited]

It's not banned, but it has created quite a bit of elitism cancer that is in WoT. I like stats too, but stat-shamers & the like would be more prevalent if XVM were to come to WoWS, and a lot of ppl would get salty on both sides - therefore there isn't really a big XVM mod in this game.
