No one knows for sure. Some people think it has to do with buying doubloons or having some sitting around. Or maybe it's just buying stuff, maybe a lot of stuff that shows you are willing to buy more stuff. Basically, it's all random as far as we know and your guess is as good as mine.

I got the same offer. I took it since it is a discount and maybe it will get them to send me more discounts in the future. But it was a bad offer.

Dono, they just pop up when you're in port. I have had several for the Indy, two for the Yo-Lang and one for 30 days premium.

I'm curious about the discounts though- I had 25% off the Indy, friend said he got it for 33% or 50% off, so not sure if the discounts are all the same.

They're not. Some are over 50% off. I think if you already own it, they might give you the doubloon value of it.

Perhaps it's dependent on how many doubloons you have on your account and need enough to trigger the ships etc.

 

You don't have any doubloons on your account so it gives a credit only offer.
