So the Alabama is on the test server. I personally am really excited about this. (read the public test notes for proof) What do you think of the T8 US BB?

I think she will be a real competitor for sure and T8 is much cheaper than the Mighty Mo as well as being more fun in my opinion.

Actually we already had a Tirpocalypse 2.0.  That was when Scharnhorst released.  The Tier VII queues were filled with those things.

I'm not sure what you're babbling on about but Alabama didn't detonate IRL.

Currently, her leaked stats show she has the highest or second highest TDS (51% reduction) of all ships currently in-game, smaller tactical diameter and better armor than NC, but trades having a higher citadel.

 

Not too much of a big deal; it just means Alabama can push a bit harder than NC can.

 

I do wonder though if WG will advertise her as having been used as the stand-in for Missouri in the movie to help sell her (they did similar for Missouri, though they also mentioned a few other historical tidbits).

Well, bring down the citadel 1 deck lower, and increase the secondary range to 8 km base. DPM buff would also be nice. I'd rather have hydro than radar for consumables. Otherwise it's no better than the NC.

 

 

Edit: 51% TDS? Not bad. The Yamato has 54%. But does having a high cit make it balanced?

Check posts I made for pictures of Alabama. She is shorter than NC sits a bit higher than NC but has same armament in a more compact package. Man secondaries on her would be nasty! Radar would be a nice option as well.

They'd be stupid to do that. A T8 BB without a tier counterpart would be a huge moneymaker for them.

I'm definitely buying her as she's a t8 premium BB. That being said, I have mixed feelings. Her excellent torpedo bulge, turning radius, and turret traverse make her an excellent brawler and capper, but her Iowa style fragile as all get out citadel means you absolutely cannot show her side or risk being one shot, not the best thing in a brawl.

I'm almost certainly NOT going to get her. I've seen no reason to see her as anything other than the same thing that is already in the game. Give her some special feature that makes her unique (like Tirp's torps, Saipan's planes, or Molotov's guns) and we'll talk. Until then, my wallet is staying closed.
