Bayern - Should I skip to B-Hull?

I am on the verge of getting enough Exp to get the SMS Bayern. Should I free-exp past the A-hull since I have enough to do it?

Save that free xp for stock Gneisenau.

Stock hull Gneisenau is not bad, but that upgraded 11sec ruddar shift will turn Gneisenau from a good brawler to a absolute close quarters nightmare.

I keep my Bayern in the A hull configuration, She's got more secondary's and I think she look's better that way.

Absolutely skip to the B Hull ASAP or prepare for an unbelievably painful grind.

Main problem with that is if you get you many CV in game.The extra AA and better rudder shift come in very useful then.

that and you're leaving a lot of extra HP on the table. You get like 7000 HP with the B hull upgrade.

Unfortunately it comes down to looks or being able to survive!

 

I am mainly playing PvE now anyway,I will have to give playing the A hull a go and see what happens.

Not much of a problem CV's are kinda scare nowadays and the remaining CV's are attracted to movement and flashy AA fireworks, so a slow moving A hull Bayern tends to get ignored by carriers...

It's only a problem if your being attacked by torpedoe's, unlike the Colorado the Bayern's armor can shrug off shells from almost anything so your HP doesn't get vaporized. You can also reclaim some HP with the Expert Survivability skill.
