189 behindurback Beta Testers 447 posts 3,946 battles Report post #1 Posted December 11, 2016 WG let us try the premium ships before buying them. interested in the indianpolis but very skeptical of buying one, would be very nice if i can try her out for 10 games before i decide to spend the $35 to buy a freaking pixel ship you can read all the reviews and watch all the videos on them but theres nothing like trying it out on your own of course for the 10 trial games you can put your own captains on the ship. as for credits and exp WG can show the potential earnings if you own the ship but you dotn actually make any exp or creds as you dont own the ship. it is a very reasonable request and will help players avoid buying port queens (ie in my case the prinz potato) the only reason after all these years in WOT and here WG have not implemented such a test drive feature is due to their underhanded business tactics where they lure ppl into impulse buys with these very enticing ships/ tanks which end up very underwhelming and only being played for a small number of games WG you have no honor!!!!

However, that being said - I did not like the way rentals worked in World of Tanks. Flooding the queue with tons of premium ships everyone gets is not a good idea, so something needs to be done to prevent everyone and their grandma from playing the same premium ship at the same time during a rental or trial period.

729 X15 Alpha Tester 2,162 posts 6,770 battles Report post #12 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) *Ahem* As, most certainly not an undercover WG employee: This is not a great idea if you think about it, the risk of you having a bad game is too high and if you did get enough battles to understand the ship they might as well just give it too you. Additionally, and you'll like this, WG could manipulate things like MM weight to give you a more positive impression. In my opinion you find a similar ship and play that to see if you like the play-style to determine if you want the premium and then you take the risk and get your reward. Besides, you can get a good overall impression from reviews, for example: Nobody said krispy kreme was even half decent. Everybody agrees Atago is solid at nearly everything. Everybody also agrees that Indy is a more forgiving but not really better version of Pcola. And we all agree Pcola's detection is *insert meme* too dam high. Instead, just limit it to Co-Op or something resembling the training rooms.

Makes since tho. Just like the hype and trailers looked so good on no man's sky and the division. Then most people were highly disappointed when the game was released. No man's sky was sued for it. False advertising or somethin like that. Idk about the division.

All the reviews and videos mean nothing once in your own real battle. You cannot preview battle a ship as it turns out most of the premium ships are worse than the free version. The reviews and videos on utube are worthless in judging if a ship fits a certain persons playstyle in any way or form. Case in point the marblehead or sims. There are an awful lot of ships that I have to play with for some matches before I can judge them. Judging after a handful of games would not be fair. But let's say they did implement a drive before you by system. I think the player should get no XP, credits, or achievements if the ship is on loan
