Yeeeahh, I only have ONE T8 ship, the North Carolina, and I don't even have it fully equipped and the captain is almost 15 points but needs re-training, plus need the credits for the hull refit.

Top it all off, I only get the weekends free. Do I have enough time to try and complete this and even then, how much is pure luck?

It's hard work but some missions are bound to certain ship classes. The campaign will stay for a long time so there is no need to hurry.

Well, if you like Japanese DDs, and you'd like a premium, then I'd say go for it.

I can't even complete Mission 1 because you need a T8 BB to get enough pins to unlock the final task. :sceptic:

Edit: I'm stupid; you can repeat the tasks....

You can repeat any task for pins. You do not have to complete all of the tasks... pick and choose the ones that work for you

doesn't that assume your focused solely in the direction?

Well, it assumes BB's are a thing everybody wants to play.  I don't, really, my BB's are gifts or prizes (ARP).

But, as pointed out, you can redo any task for pins, you just don't get the reward again.  It's actually a pretty generous way to handle it.

Queue up the missions you will accomplish "eventually", like doing 200,000 damage to X nation's ship.  When you complete it for the single pin, requeue it.  In this manner, you'll gradually accumulate pins to unlock the final mission of  that series.  The individual rewards are worthwhile IMO.  The final rewards are nice too.  As for the Shinonome:

For me I just keep 1 mission of both campaigns that I would commonly do some progress on when I play the game normally.

I just play the game regularly, not aiming for the campaigns. You'll accomplish the task soon on accident.

For me I haven't been playing the campaign itself but rather I've been playing for the individual pin rewards. I make my choices of which to play by looking at first what the reward will be and then the parameters(ship, tier, weapons) of the mission. By choosing wisely you can often work two or more missions with a single class of ship or weapon.

Between these missions, the in game achievement rewards and the containers I've had a couple of days when nearly every game, win or lose, had some sort of reward and some games with multiple rewards.

The spot 2 DD's in a BB one ? LOL got that on the first try in my Fred the great . On another note I decided to finish the Science campaign first and did so early (EST) this morning before reset . So now will concentrate on the Honorable campaign .

P.S. I did not try to do ALL the tasks as some require CV(s) and I do not play them (trouble with micro-managing and the Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands ) .      :honoring:      :izmena:

I'm not sure the missions are worth busting your butt to finish. I just take the missions and they gradually get finished without me paying too much attention (I do sometimes check the ship type, and since I don't play CVs I make sure not to select any of those). The missions just add a bit more engagement to the game. Even if you don't want the end reward, the flags, XP, camo and credits are nice.

This right here, I never did task 5 (don't know why, honestly);

As for the OP, you can complete them with the NC but having access to multiple ship types can help complete it quicker, for example there are two 3-pin tasks in Mission 2 that require a cruiser, 4 of the 7 tasks in Mission 5 require a tier X ship, etc. The choice is yours if you think it is worth the final reward.

As it is in life, the more tools you have in your toolbox, the more you can accomplish and the more efficiently you can accomplish them.

If you want the added benefits of additional rewards and acquiring those rewards quicker, you will stock your port with a healthy diversity of tiers and classes including one or two of the classes you like playing the least.

I am almost done with the first one, and when I get my week of premium, I will work on the second campaign and put a dent in it.   no hurry though.   at least on the first mission, I didn't need to repeat a task, but I will if need be.

I heard so much bad about the campaigns that I never bothered trying them.

Cheating yourself, dude.  They're super easy things, just select, and play as regular.

I wonder if Shinonome is a strong ship at her tier. If she is like what Shimazake is after the nerf, I wouldn't be motivated at all.

I have her, and she really isn't. She's mediocre at best. Her turret traverse is awful, guns pack a punch but RoF is slooowwww. Only good thing about her is her 3 triple torp launchers and they reload pretty quickly. Though unless you have CE on your captain, you have to get dangerously close to your detection range to be able to launch the torps without being detected. She has an 8km torp range and a base detection range of 6.8km. And she feels sluggish.

Damn, I wish I knew that before I completed the Science campaign. It would have made it a LOT easier. Hell, I even bought a T5 CV to do a task. IDK why I didn't even try to repeat one. Silly me.

Based on current stats, she's pretty good. I hope abnormal amount of damage per match is because of how awesome Shinonome is, not because the players who can get her so quickly are so good.

Most definitely certain it's because of good players inflating stats.

That and premium ships means you can load up a 15~18pt captain for free.

Shinonome also comes with a 10pt or 12pt captain, so it's a nice way to get another high level IJN captain
