Traditional DD tacktics do not work I think. Too visible to enemy and camo do not help. Every IJN DD and most USn DD:s  spots Taschkent well before they are detected so Taschkent get hard punishment if enemy CA/CL are nearby.

I manage to do reasonable well if I look results(mostly better half and usually inside best 5 performers) but my feelings are more or less bad. I like to play this like CL but team expect me to be true DD ? My build is gunboat with aft.

Opinnions?

And why tier 8-10 games are so verbally hostile? Tier 3 to tier 7 is nice casual playing without agressive verbal use. Usually and mostly I am not targets of those verbal attacks but it disturbs.

You are no longer a typical destroyer. So stop trying to play as a destroyer. You are now glorious baby cruiser who brings honor to mother land by running around setting fires and raining AP on super structure of ships. Speed and maneuverability are life now. If you can't ambush a target with torps you need to be kitting them at range while pummeling them with guns.

And if people don't know by now that you can't stealth cap with a Russian DD than they need to be sent to the Gulag.

because by this time, dd players SHOULD have access to both the t8 concealment modual and the lvl 15 captain skill if they did not reset their captains after every ship. using these the det range is well below their t7 counterparts.

However, dont put that t5 cptn skill on a russian dd please... just live with being spoted and kill everything with those guns...

Play it as a cruiser , dont get near caps at least not in the first 10 min of the game ( exception if there are 2 dds at max on each side and if you have support )

Use tash is a support cruiser not a dd , a DD flotila leader so basically a cruiser

Just shoot your guns 90% of the time at anything that you see moving

I have some videos if you want to check them out

Ahh the "Trash"-kent.

I did pretty decent in it, but I really hated that ship. Watch as many vids on youtube as you can along with whats been posted. Notser, Ichasegaming, and Flamu are a good start.

Basically try to let the lower det DD's go in first and you hang back so as your det circle on minimap doesn't cover the cap. When the other DD's spot the enemy, punish them. The only real saving grace for this ship is it can take a beating.

If you have a good enough Commander OP, shoot for (4th line) DE and AFT. You should use this configuration the rest of the line

after playing the tash for a while, even in ranked, and doing, OK in her....I can say that the best thing about playing the tash is getting to the Udaloi....

That is all

her playstyle is almost identical to Kiev.  If you didn't struggle with kievs playstyle, Tashkent should be no different.

Loved the Tashkent... use it as an escort for other dds that are stealthier than you if possible.

Let them lead and spot the other dds...then BAM!!

O Thank you. Well Said. This post needs to be spread everywhere. I can't tell you how many times I've been told to torpedo things with my Kiev. Just so annoying how Battle Ships sit in the back doing nothing while whining for the Destroyers to do more.

Tashkent takes a while to get the hang of.

Get out of stock ASAP. Do not take a stock Tash to Randoms.

Best way to play Tash is not to cap early, but cap later when Red gets thin. Launch torps when ships are 9-10 kms away. Ambushing torping won't go well for you. Do plenty of pew pew pew and stay at the limits of your range/ability to hit consistently. Keep ship moving.

I played it solo and struggled for a 54% win rate in it. It's not an easy ship to play....

Just unlocked my Tashkent tonight. Hope I don't hate the grind on this one. I will follow this build for now.

Tashkent gets a bad wrap but I found great continuity from the Kiev. Just play like you're Michael J Fox and always be moving.

A few things you want to do with the tashkent. First don't worry about trying to reduce her concealment. Pick up the propulsion mod and the new rudder shift mod. Go ahead and push caps early if they have alot of exposed water with very little cover. once spotted don't attempt to cap said cap, instead start evasive actions. Proceed to burn everything that tries to engage you in name of motherland comrade. Especially the mighty battleships.

The tashkent like most VMF DDs is made to being an annoying pain in the rear to any ship that is in important areas, you zoom around at full speed and as far away as you can reliably hit things supporting your better concealed allies as they push into caps or farm fires on BBs if there is nothing better to do. Unlike the Kiev that people could force into a normalish DD role the trashkan is a large easy to hit target that turns poorly so you have to play more passively.

Didn't play mine often but had one of the most hilarious games in her. Had the Witherer pop up when I was only through half of the damage I did in total. Let other DD spot for you and punish BB that are busy dueling with other BB. If you see a CL cit him to death.

get SGM3 and it should perform decently.

By far and away, the most annoying thing about T8+ soviet DDs is that 4s+ rudder speed.

With SGM3, it should be in the 2s range.
