One match does not a ship make.

You need to put some vids on youtube to teach others then.

Overal the ship is outclassed by all 6s

That crawling smokescreen could have a lot of utility for covering teammates.  I suspect that we won't see how strong that ship could truly be until we see her in a more teamwork-oriented mode, namely Team Battles (because Ranked is just Random with more egotistical people).

I like the Perth but I don't play her much due to the current tier 6 meta. Not a great ship, but it is fun to play.

I agree.

Perth.jpg...

How in the world did you ONLY get 4 kills in the perth? That ship is so OP and you barely broke 100k. They should nerf that ship.

JK, nice job though on that match though.

Anecdotal evidence aside, Perth is bad.

Looking at the 2 week stats on the NA server, Perth is currently ranked third place for tier 6 cruisers behind Molotov and Leander.

Quite fond of Perth, I liken her to a sort of Belfast but at Tier VI.  No radar, sure, but she has most of what makes an RN CL an RN CL.  More importantly, she has the ammo choice to be flexible.  At the ranges she fights in, she will land quite a bit of citadels with her Non-RN CL AP.  With HE, she can set fires against armored/angled targets and stress their consumables.  Unlike Leander, she can easily land fires to get the target to burn Damage Control, then hopefully land a torp hit for flooding.  That is a trick not even Belfast can do.

Because of her flexible guns, torps, moving smoke that doesn't make her an easy torpedo target, I do believe she fights better as a down-tiered Tier VI even in today's meta.

Does this mean Krasny Krym is good, or does it mean the setting sun shines on an east-bound dog's bunghole from time to time?

Just because a good player can get a good result of out a ship doesn't mean the ship is good.  IMO, to be a good ship, it needs to get average results with an average captain.  Perth fails to do that.

the current tier 6 meta

Same reason I won't be able to bring myself to buy Arizona when she debuts again. And yes, I know Arizona uptiers fairly well... I just have no desire to do it 3/4ths of all my games.

I saw the title and was ready to throw a 'u wot m8' out there. And then I relaxed. And then I saw posts saying Perth is bad. :I

Perth is ridiculous fun. Leading a division of 2 tier 6 DDs, we (but mostly me) completely swept as aside an entire flank on Estuary and ended up behind about 5 tier 6 to 8 BBs, larking about setting fires.

It is fairly safe for me to say that Perth is far from bad.

Sun shines on a dogs bum every once in a while.  Just because a good player can make it work doesn't make it a good ship.

I find it a fun ship, was hesitant to buy it originally because of the short range but thought what the heck, it's an Aussie ship ( and I'm an Aussie). Now it's one of may favourites. Up tiered or not, still have fun.

I don't know what you do during the long interval between smoke generator uses, certainly dance and shoot but from a much worse platform than Cleveland. Does smoke half the time and not losing speed in turns offset 50% less firepower, less armor, less HP etc than the Cleveland?

If you can get that to work then bravo. I'm not impressed.

hide behind islands and shoot over them from cover.  Look for distracted targets who are not likely to shoot back.

The ship can be made to work, but it's not good straight out of the box.  It requires a creative captain to perform.  As for me personally, I'm pulling 40k damage/game and a 60% win rate, so I think when I say it's bad, it's not because I can't make it work...I can clearly pull above average numbers in it.  Your average captain cannot however, and that's why it's a bad ship.
