Amagi's Accuracy

So I've noticed something, and could just be confirmation bias, but... do Amagi's guns seem more accurate to you at long range without MBM1 or with it?

I took off MBM1 from Amagi and put instead SBM2 on her, and all of a sudden, my first 5 salvos on a Bismarck at 18km were about as tight as a Japanese Swimmer's Stomach.

 

And.. eager to try my secondaries out, I rush down two Bismarcks, and this was my result:

 

 

Yeah, I don't think the first Bismarck expected 5 out of 10 shells to land right into his belt at 5km

Second one, the one I killed, was hit with 6/10 shells for a full 20k damage hit. I mean, damn.

 

My secondaries didn't do much, but that was the best performance from my mains at close range I have ever seen lol

The two Bismarcks probably felt like fools that they couldn't kill an Amagi at 5km though, and it was 2v1.

 

But anyone else noticed how weird Amagi's accuracy is?

I had MBM1 on her, but... her accuracy was less than stellar, Nagato had better accuracy. I slap SBM2 on her, and all of a sudden she's a goddamn railcannon.

Same here heard she is a great sniper, but still the NC or the Tirpitz are my favorite T8s

Took my Amagi out today, citted a Warspite at almost max range with the spotter aircraft.  Surprised me, but that was about the only good thing of that game (most of which was me not able to aim properly).

I seem to do about same with all 3 t8 BB with bismarck being slightly better/more battles.  all 3 are good ships.

I just got her unlocked and purchased. I loved Nagato and Fuso. So easy to just slip in and play those two. I went through the Nagato in record time of 75 games....and it was enjoyable, ended with with a 62% win rate, Fuso was only 60%. I hope Amagi continues this trend.

 

I like the NC post buff, I also just unlocked and purchased Iowa, but still havent taken it out yet.

I also have the Bismark sitting in port awaiting her maiden cruise.

 

I spent  all my credits when they had the sale over TG.

 

I have become stingy with my free xp, trying to get the MO. I have another 350k to go...or shell out about $55.00

 

Yesterday I had a 22km cit on a Fuso with the Arizona....spotter was up and he was angled headed away. Flight time seemed like minutes. Must have plunged right through the deck

I've always used the accuracy module, and Amagi has the worst accuracy of all the T8 BBs. I want to know if the accuracy module actually ruins the dispersion too, since I've used accuracy module on all IJN BBs and IJN BBs have by far the worst accuracy in the game. Amagi gets to be more consistent because it has more guns, but it still averages less hits per salvo than NC or Bismark, about 3 shells out of all hit on a small target such as a cruiser at 12km. However because of the inaccuracy, most are not full penetrations. I sold this ship because it is so terrible at doing consistent damage to even broadsiding cruisers.

I dunno, Amagi has a good Sigma value and her shells seem okay. It's just I never hit anything with MBM1, now with SBM2, I seem to be able to murder the world.

Needs more testing, but I have heard this about other BBs too. I seem to remember a few posts on it...

No clue about her accuracy, but her secondaries (along with Nagato's) feel more accurate at their maximum ranges (if spec'd for such) than Izumo's, Yamato's, Bismarck's FdG's, and GK's at those exact same ranges, without Manual Secondary control.

I'll be honest, my experiences with Nagato and Amagi, both in Beta and release, have been pretty good accuracy on the main battery guns. First game in Nagato back in CBT, I only fired a few salvoes but most of them were either good hits or citadels. I citadelled an enemy battleship at 20+ kilometres, and the Amagi has been a positive accuracy trend too. Made better by the large number of heavy guns, high shell velocity and my propensity for brawling. It's given me a 68,674 average damage and 26% hit ratio, which isn't too bad. Roughly 2-3 shell hits per salvo.

 

Edit: I'm pretty sure my Amagi has MBM1 installed.

I run a secondary build on my Amagi and had no issues with accuracy. But I switched out to MBM1 for Ranked. I hardly noticed a difference in accuracy, although I do tend to fight at medium ranges both in Ranked and in Randoms.

One day I'll get to Amagi, she's the only real one I've been waiting for so far. But she's low on the list to get. Working on Mogami, Roon and Bismarck since they are furthest along. next will be ofcourse freddie, Ibuki then Schors as she's my next furthest along.  Then I dip back to tier 7 and it's Kiev and Mahan that are due up and probably finish leander and work up the british line.

I just got Amagi recently and she's essentially to Nagato what Fuso is to Kongo. It took me some getting used to the heavier guns with Nagato but once she got sweet on me I started racking up experience quickly and I actually cleared her in about 70-ish matches. I think it's because i was focusing more on staying with the fleet and supporting captures over straight out kills, but i actually did ever so slightly better average damage and a bit better kill count with Fuso. Most likely the pendulum will swing again but I'm actually going back to Nagato since she's fully elite'd and i have a scant 50k in FreeXP before getting The Mighty Mo. I have not tried without the accuracy mod/dispersion improvement in a long time, mostly because depending on the range I'll take more shots while they're angled. I have gotten some GREAT plunging fire shots through an enemy's deck when they thought they were safe until I land a 29k salvo from Nagato.

 

Now is it just me or is Amagi's armor some kinda ridiculous even when It's slightly angled? people talk about the german turtleback but i swear there's not a ship i have bounced more shots off of than an Enemy Amagi.

Amagi has troll armor. Her armor is so damn troll that she WILL bounce a lot of things at angles and weird angles lol
