9 shells and 8 torpedoes and not a enemy in sight....sounds fair to me  and they never miss.  bring back the aim bots to level the playing field

Stop driving in a straight line, use A and D every now and then. Those torpedoes were launched from outside the launcher's detection range and spent a good amount of time traveling in a straight line to where the other player predicted you would be after that time.

it takes time to turn the Iowa but I don't drive in a str8 line in fact i just made a 180 at 33 knots but they seem to know where u r going and when u r going to get there.  how can u fight invisible? ships  they appear 500km away launch 8 torpedos and poof they r gone and no way to avoid them

I play both DD's & BB's.  I've never been "surprised" by torps. Sunk by them?  Yes. 

If you are  a BB driver, ride that gas pedal. Vary your throttle.  Tweak your rudder.  That DD dumped it's torps 45 seconds ago.  If you vary your speed & angle,  they'll miss you.  Watch the iChase WASD hax video.

But really, it's not like there aren't a bunch of counters to invisifiing now. Torpedo can literally take 1-2 ​minutes​ to reach an intended target. If you're not out of the way by then...well...that sucks.

Watch the mini map, a lot of times you will see where an enemy dd was last spotted, use that info to help in your steering decisions.

Or not even meant for them. I get hits on enemies with torpedoes that are sent against a completely different ship.

 

And as always, it's not the shot that has your name on it you should worry about, it's the one addressed to "to whom it may be concerned."

Looking at your stats, how did you even get to the Iowa without ever touching Chester, St. Louis, or South Carolina? You have 105 battles and all of it in the USN line, so how did you just skip from Erie to Wyoming?

Torps .. yep ... was horrified by them when I first started not sure how many games it took to figuer them out and get over it ... I play mostly Cruisers, now I can pretty much tell when a DD launches at me, can I avoid them all nope .. but I know there coming ... its a great game and I got torps to

as i expected the answers r full of ridicule and "i am the greatest"  I dont drive in a str8 line,  i just drove at half speed with full right then full speed left right and so on but tonite was the best.  i just went through a series of turns and speed adjustments and made a 180 degree at full speed and guess what, yup 8 torpedoes waiting for me and i hadnt even finished the turn.  u guys seem to have figured it out and i guess it will take me a little while longer....

Yeah, because you have 111 games in PvP against real people and not bots. Players tend to know what they're doing, and are not forgiving.

We got ourselves a potato lol I would have figured by t9 that you don't drive  in a straight line ever, especially in a BB without having some sort of cover such as a destroyer or cruiser

Those torps were likely not even meant for you. Here are some torp avoidance tips.

 

1. Pay attention to where the dds have been spotted as the game progresses so you know where they are operating.

 

2. Try to keep a friendly dd or cruiser between you and any enemy that can fire torps. The smaller friendly will likely spot the torps before they are an immediate threat to you. A dd or cruiser can dodge them more readily and you get more time to react.

 

3. When a torp capable enemy is spotted and you think you'll be it's target, turn away from it if you're close to it's max range and don't want to engage it. If you are closer, turn into it. I won't give a lesson on how to beat a dd with a bb here, but it's definitely easier to dodge head on torps than broadside torps.

 

4. Pay attention to your detected warnings. At the beginning of a game, going straight ahead at a fixed speed is relatively safe, but once you've been spotted even for just a moment, assume there are shells or torps inbound or a dd setting up an ambush around the next island and change course and speed frequently.
