522 [IN3PT] El_Judarino Beta Testers 1,703 posts 6,511 battles Report post #8 Posted December 10, 2016 Somebody did some math Assuming WG produces 4 ship lines a year and then looking at the likely pool of nations that can field at least mostly complete lines of ships and then accounting for other side branches (USA for example could easily make another BB line and have several CA/CL/DD branch lines)... Somewhere around 2020-22 you start running out of surface ships that could be easily added to the game... If the game were still a profitable success at that point, and given that MMOs such as this survive on new content.. It stands to reason that the time might come for submarines. Would have been cool even if it was just a fancy DD, but nothing ever came of it as far as im aware. That said, the arp captains can only be used on arp ships, right? So if I want to use Iona or Gunzo or Bear Kirishima, I must remove an arp captain from another ship? If so, that's sad... It'll probably be a cruiser or two (but not Takao, definitely not Takao), but a shame there aren't ships for them. And ya, special tier IX or X destroyer for Iona would have been awesome. Not broken - look for "ARP Sub" and the first result explains what you see. You need to do more than one search. Sometimes numbers and letters are not specific enough and sometimes it can be too specific. I and 401 ( or eye, 4, 0, 1) are used so often the results are garbage in any search engine. Iona/I-401 was originally planned for a special ARP mode, likely as a boss/special ally to fight or assist. The model existed for awhile and was used for the TXI tree image but was not actually visible in-game (had to be modded to be seen; was used as a floatplane replacer mod for awhile until that broke). If the I-401 model still exists, it's possible, given how some modders previously made the Yamato model work on a DD for fun, though the guns and torps fired from within the model's shell and the Yamato's own guns didn't move at all (and AA didn't track). It'd only show up for you, while everyone else still sees your regular DD. Personally, I would not know how to do it, but you could try asking around the Modding section to see if anyone has the I-401 model from that video, and could edit it to replace, say a Shimakaze hull. Or a Khabarovsk hull.
