I'm just at a lost right now.  I think I have just broke my tenth game with her and my god!  I don't know what to do. I'm at the point where I'm banging my head against the desk.  So I know I shouldn't be showing my broadside.  I get that.  I take aim at a ship after doing the math in my head and I watch my shells just pass ahead of them...-_-.  OKAY....they must be going slower and oh great they're angling.  The shells are going all over the place and when I do find that dumb captain going broadside at 10-15km......I watch my shells just either not pen because I hit something that doesn't take damage or I get an over pen.  Okay, so maybe I should get up close, but NOPE.  Can't do that while the enemy's DD's are just buzzing around up ahead and there is no one ahead of me because the team decides to go the other way by the time I pass the point of no return.  Sometimes I do find my team following me as I make my push, but guess what.....the DD's up ahead just fling torp after torp after torp at me and this ship stock can't turn at all.

I'm just at a lost right now.  I hear SO MANY PEOPLE talk about how awesome this ship is, but I haven't seen it yet.  Highest I ever got in damage was a 40k, but that was because the enemy Yamato decided to say f*ck it and show his broadside to our Yamato and not take any damage while he angles against me and proceeds to DEMOLISH my sharp angled NC.  May I please get some tips here guys besides the, "Get gud," reply.  I am already admitting I'm a noob in this ship.

OH and P.S.  When I try to do what other ships are doing, going around at a slower speed to throw off someone's aim, I STILL get hit hard at an angle.  What's the deal here?

point your bow towards enemy ships and reverse ships. Just forget you have a third turret.

Things get much better once you can upgrade to the B hull.

As for your aim and ability to deal critical damage you just got to keep at it and it will come. 10 games is not enough time in her to understand how she works.

In ranked battle I one shot another NC with mine for 5 citadels in the opening moments of the battle as he turned for better position and exposed his broadside. That was 66K damage with 6 shells. Also my best game thus far was 166k damage.

Yes Please. Do this. It makes a Bismarck and FDG driver's life so much simpler. Point that dynamic crosshair two maybe three ticks behind the side of the ship, fire a salvo, wait for them to take action then salvo dump on them. :-P :red_button:

Use the forward turrets only . Use 3rd only if you have a great shot and only after your target has fired then turn back to protect your ship.

Max range shots are horrible. Around 12km is not too bad. Travel with a CA escort if possible. Try not to go alone.

Not that I'm great with the NC, I've found that there is a certain range the the NC is at her optimum performance. Plunging rounds seem to be the most effective. My guess is that this range is 8-10 KM. She's not a sniper and getting in too close is asking to be torped.

I sold mine and bought her back. Being a NC resident may have had something to do with it.

Check out YouTube. I'm sure you'll find some nuggets there.

Thanks for the replies guys.  It's tough, but I'm starting to get a feel for her.  My biggest problem I'm having is those pesky cruisers who I barely just miss their citadel.  This alerts them and they become pretty much become so annoying.  I think the hardest thing I need to learn on this ship is to be patient.  One game I had many ship's broadsides showing, but I decided to hold my fire.....got a 160k damage game from that. :great:

It can take quite a few games just to get used to her abnormal shell arcs. You have no idea how many easy kills at close range I whiffed because of that.  Don't be that guy who just reverses bow on in their NC the whole game like others have suggested. You'll get wrecked by HE spam really badly.  Or Yamato shells, or german 420s.  It should only be used when you have multiple BBs coming straight at you who cannot overmatch your bow armor with no HE or torpedo threats near.  However, speed and course control is key. Also, getting to 11.8 km concealment with upgrade and captain perk is extremely useful for ganking cruisers mid game in a CV-less match where the DD numbers have been thinned out and you surprise broadside cruisers at 13ish km. I thought the ship was quite mediocre after 150 games in it averaging about 65k dmg. Then it all came together for the last 70 or so averaging 80k-85kish. I hope it comes together faster for you than it did for me.

Im in the same boat. I stopped playing it for now because I cant stand the pain. That one game things seem to be going "ok", I look up and see a DD 7KM off the port side and 3 squardons of torp bombers off the starboard.
