I use manual fire and it is very good in the Yamato

If high enough tier to make it worthwhile, then manual fire secondaries.

If lower tier, then I'd skip the 5th row to pick up more useful stuff. Unless you want to try and be harder to spot.

The manual control of secondaries is only good at high T6 + tiers, however, it makes a HUGE difference on the Mikasa.

...

My advise:  Have fun with the game and go for it.  Try it out.  Play with it.  Wreck some face in your Mikasa for fun.

...

It's just a couple bucks if it doesn't work out for you.

Yamato, IzumoMikasa, and possibly Nagato are good candidates for Manual Secondaries.  The others are better off with Jack of All Trades or Concealment Expert.

I am curious that nobody uses Jack of All Trades. I honestly though that might be more of a thing, especially to take advantage of the Yamato's survivability.
