AFK players is getting worse and worse and in the last 24 hours every match ive been in either my team or the oponents have had at least 1 AFK. 2 matches our top tier CV has been afk the whole match and the final straw I just came out of a tier 9 match where 3 of our team of 10 were AFK the whole match , obviously we were slaughtered.

There has to be a technical issue going on as its much worse than 6 months ago. What I dont understand is, im playing from a regional centre in Australia with 100 ping yet ive always loaded in at least 10 seconds before the match starts and never had a drop out. There needs to be a technical survey to unlock what is causing this as its a plague that is getting worse.

So ill start, 2 year old laptop( alienware), windows 8.1, operating system on an SSD drive but WOWS on a traditional hard drive, original nvidia drivers. That configuration works. What we need to hear is what system the people who are not connecting have that is causing the problems. Im not the first to notice this downward spiral.

Not always. It does get frustrating when key vehicles are AFK, like CV's and DD's. Imagine having your CV being AFK for 5-10 minutes, and tell me how fun that is.

Voluntary firefighter here. There is a saying here that goes "Alarm ist Alarm" (alarm is alarm) simply meaning that whatever we are doing at the moment, when this little guy goes of (
) the emergency takes priority above almost anything. And your enjoyment then also takes the back seat. No technical issue.

sorry but i dont buy your arguments. Yes real life gets in the way but as a CBT player I can tell you it is now much worse with even tier 10s AFK even with such a financial penalty of not contributing. 3 on 1 side in 1 match with such a broad population all having "real life"get in the way after pressing play for the whole battle?

Just got back on,first battle , once again an AFK BB the whole battle.

Many a player loading in 2 to 3 minutes after the battle has started asking if anyone else had loading problems, happening regularly now so dont tell me there isnt a technical issue .

Something has happened in the last couple of months , ive seen players on the other team just as frustrated and commenting.

There must be a good number of voluntary firefighters lately at WoWs. While I agree the real life comes first the number increases a lot over the last few weeks.

So that's what it is. Every game 3 or 4 people are having emergency strokes. I never knew that.

It's absurd, i was AFK for 2 matches today.  My keyboard stopped working so I had to restart my computer to fix it.  As I loaded in I sank.  In another my internet crapped out as I drove my top tier BB onto a cap.  I got the cap though.

Don't do Win10 kids.

there could be disconecting issues or failing to load in. I litteraly spent 5 minuets waiting to load in, I ended up restarting my client and died before I loaded in.

Real life happens. Sometimes you have explosive diarrhea and have to "run" to the bathroom. Sometimes you have to go to a fire. Sometimes you get robbed in the middle of playing.

But I've played online games since the mid-90s. "Real Life" doesn't happen all that often among 12 people who have sat down knowing they are likely going to be playing for 10ish minutes. Clearly some people need to lower their settings, get better rigs, or stop trying to play a game they can't legitimately play. I'm by no means a try hard. But we DO play with the objective of winning. There is a reward for winning. These are long games. And while everyone has the great story of being down 2 afks and coming back and snatching victory, all things being equal, if you're down 2 players, you will lose and lose badly.

So, sure, fix whatever code is coding things bad. Make an 8bit version of the models so people with their Pentium II machines can play and not take 14 minutes to load each map. But, you know, also maybe play Coop if you know your machine can't handle it. And if you're sitting outside the E.R. with a random 5-25 minutes before you're on call, maybe play a different game.

He isn't complaining that people are doing it on purpose. He stated plainly that he suspects technical issues either on clients or somewhere else.

So, why is everyone piling on about how real life matters...and giving horrible details to excuse themselves from pixel ships?

He tried to open a discussion about technical issues and got grandpa dying of a stroke while experiencing explosive diarhea from a keyboard malfunction due to Win10.

Toxic much?

Yeah, it started happening for me since 5.14. Prior to that I was loading with 30 seconds to spare, now I'm 15 to 45 seconds late almost every game. It has gotten better for me today with my loading with 5 seconds to spare in about half my games. I'm not in NA but the ping is usually about 105 and 58 fps.

Generally in in low tier games with less than 4,000 people on line or in PvE games I load with a few seconds to spare.

It's slow loading. It's completely out of hand.

The only way to get rid of it is to run no mods at all, not even the official Wargaming mod pack.

There some issue with the game loading and holding players. I was dropped out of the server and had to re connect twice in a row yesterday. I've also been having a long wait to get in after the game has started. I can see our team moving in the "Mission" minimap in MM, but don't get the blue loading bar.

Was in a T-V game yesterday, the Reds had 3 AFK's.  Easy to tell 0 score and they where all in the same division.

Yeah, like jumping to the extremes is always fun. I mean, if your house is on fire, your ISP is screwing you, or something happened to someone close, then yeah, makes sense. But chances of any of those happenings are minimal for the average Joe. But being on your phone, or doing so other menial task, not so excusable.

A conclusion without any type of evidence - this is nothing more than speculation.  It does not 'have' to be a technical reason.

There is though. Something in the mod packs causes the vast majority of it.

Just the other day, me, Reymu and Ninja were in a platoon playing. Everything was fine for two or three games. About game 4 I think it was, Reymu simply didn't load. About 2 minutes later he shows up explaining he had to restart the game to get in.

The very next game the same thing happened to him, only it took him 5 or 6 minutes to get in. He restarted his game 3 times I think before it would load. He said then that he was running Aslain's mod pack and would get rid of it after that.

Now, the only time I've had that same problem of that happening is when I ran the official Wargaming mod pack that NikoPower does. The same exact thing happens. Since that mod pack hasn't been updated yet, I've been running pure vanilla and haven't had the issue.

So there IS some TECHNICAL glitch that is causing it, and it has to do with something they are doing with the mod structure.

That is just an example of what can come into someone's way. Other options would be:

- door bell

- telephone

- accident inside your house

- PC decides to randomly restart (this did in fact happen to me)

- for the minors when the parents or siblings enter the room

Digger I feel your pain!  I agree it is terrible when a tier 10 dd or CV is left behind in the dust because they are not present and accounted for, using a military term of expression.  What I can't figure out, is why a tier 10?  If it is a technical issue, hasn't this person figured it out yet? I mean many have ground their way to a tier 10 and did they not experience the issues from 1 to 9?  Or is there something sinister going on in the software where 12 ships are barely able to play?  I will say it is more than frustrating.  If people are entering the game and then leaving for some reason, I hope they realize how it affects the team and that they should refrain from playing until their rig is fixed or the problem is somehow dealt with.  Perhaps they are still using dial up to connect with the server!!  What a frightening thought!

Sure. Because I always knew that my neighbour would come by to borrow a cup of sugar within the next few minutes. Because I always knew that my mother would unplug the router thinking that she needs the power outlet for the vacuum cleaner. Because I always knew that a firend would call me with another life crisis that needs to be solved. Why didn't I think of that?

he is not saying that is the issue, the inflation in the AFK numbers is too high for it to be those alone. what we are seeing are technical issues with the mod structure based on how a large majority if not all of the affectees are running mods, regardless of source. this is a client to server issue, and is affecting the quality of play. WG needs to hot-fix this.

Have you ever seen a premium ship went AFK?

*shrug* Strange huh?

Please do something. Apparently zero reward alone failed to discourage them.
