Post your best games that were still soul crushing defeats in Cruisers

So this idea was a big hit in DDs, and there's one in the Battleship forum, so I figured the Cruisers could use one as well. I'll start. 

 

Attempted a hard carry. Killed as many ships as the rest of my team, combined. Still couldn't pull out the win.

Posted this awhile ago, but why not? This is my highest record damage for your information, and could've been a Solo Warrior if I angled properly.

Saddest part is... if I had more time I would have managed to pull a win.  But I properly defended my cap!  v--- Would have been a solo warrior if I could have gotten the carrier.

This is no lie. That ship made me give up on that line. I may free XP to the 'Nawlins someday though.

Dont have the screen shots unfortunately but my best was a 180,000 damage game in the takao with 4 kills on a loss.

When you become a battleship and charge 2 BBs to give your team a chance to cap but still lose because those 4 ships don't have the gumption to flush out one Mutsuki.  This was pre-IJN-DD-rework and pre-RN CL, by the way, and 2 of those citadels were on a Dunkerque.

The worst part is all of said ships came back up to "help" me but didn't open fire until after I hit the Colorado that finished me off with a torpedo.  The first guy was 6km from said Colorado by then, and, needless to say, not anywhere near any caps.

 

I think that was the last time I ever took a CA out into Random battles.

The stats may not look impressive but what made this soul crushing is we lost because of a bot CV (which i had hung around to defend from air attacks, thus finding myself stranded out of position, away from support and fighting on the run for my life after it got itself killed by running aground twice) and also because preceding this match I was on a 11-match long winning streak

Well there's your problem.  You deemed a low-tier CV worthy of defending.  CV sniping is very rare until T7 for a reason.

Yeah,  tier X game. 

 

I tend to get a lot it citadels, but not kills in all my games with all my  cruisers.  I take a good part of the health away, and then when I go for the last shot, someone inevitability  beats me to the punch.  

 

Just happens.  I used to get frustrated, but now take it as part of the game.  I am just playing to have fun, and I get a rush with citadels.

I had a nice 170k dmg match in hipper today in a loss.  I wasn't totally mad about it.   potatoes will be starchy

I just couldn't carry hard enough...this was one of those matches that would justifiably allow me to complain about bad BB drivers...but...it was also a super rare match where our team had 2 and their team had 3...so, they're not the reason we lost.  That would be the potato cruiser drivers that didn't know how to aim torps, use WASD or open water.  So frustrating.  I solo killed a Bayern here, but made a mistake...I turned right instead of left...and that put me in a comparatively worse position to deal with their Fiji.  I needed either RNG to give me cits (didn't) or one more salvo to kill him.  If I killed that Fiji, we probably win...me versus a Kongo and something else...I'll take that action.  I had one manned that Fiji, Bayern and one Kongo to rip 95% of HP from the Fiji, kill the Bayern and send the Kongo running off with 50% HP.  I couldn't carry hard enough...

Well...this whole evening has been one, long, soul crushing defeat.  Four losses in a row for Shchors is how it ends.  The first game I ALMOST carried...almost...after that, MM decided I needed to be up tiered with...how shall I put this...teams that didn't work well together.  I LOVE losing with the highest base exp between both teams... 

Turns out I'm not good enough to carry a Tier IX match with a Tier VII light cruiser...
