Graf Spee Views

Several days ago I spotted the Graf Spee in a battle that I was in. I'd been knocked off so I was able to scope out the ship and take a few screenshots. Here are some of those views.

Turrets seem to rotate fast and you can get a good forward angle shot with the torps, even though they are in the rear, as is typical of German ships with torps. I understand she should be treated as a CA, not holding up to the pounding that a BB can take. Based on the damage that she took here, I would agree her hull is vulnerable. She looks like a fin ship though, and I'm sure she will rack up the credits and free XP in the proper hands.

How he lost 17k health in the less than one minute time span between.

This means he received a large citadel hit since there's no other ship in the vincinity judging by the minimap, and I would conclude he took that hit from the New York he was trying to torp so desperately.

This confirms the rumor that Graf Spee doesn't get the vaunted German turtleback armor, which should be impervious to be citadeled by a new york at close range.

Then again, the HP pool is very healthy for a tier 6 cruiser, and he's able to survive that crippling strike. Having heals certainly doesn't harm.

What I like about Graf being a premium, besides the fact of historical significance, is that it frees up either Deutschland/Lützow or Admiral Scheer for a tech tree spot.

The Graf Spee is going to be Tier 6. Giving her armor on par with a tier 8 is highly unlikely just from a balance standpoint.

All pics were not in sequence. The 4th shot should have been the 3rd. Note the timer in the top right. That being said, he did sink the bb with his torps. I have more pics, but though this was more than enough for one posting.

I suspect with some people still believing the pommy propaganda about it being a BB that they are gonna be in for a shock when they charge in like a Bayern and die fast!

Yeah, I do see the Cruiser icon by its name, so it'll be a CA.  Historically, it's what the KM called a "Panzerschiff," lit. "Armored Ship" that was also called a "Pocket Battleship" owing to its BB-like armament and CA-like protection.

I saw one in a game a few days ago, and can confirm that she is as "squishy" as a typical cruiser. Caught her traveling straight as she flexed back to base. Two high damage citadels in two salvos from my Fuso at 15k. A cruiser put her down shortly after. HP evaporated in a hurry..... Will still buy her in a heartbeat.

 

BTW when you want to take glamour shots, hit <Cntrl+G> to turn off the interface.

given that Graf Spee is one of the ships in High School Fleet, I expect a no-premium-bonus version with a female captain will be part of the 2017 Anime Cross-Promotion, earned via missions.

It is planned for release from what I understand,will no doubt follow the ARP ships with the no bonuses.

They was a campaign to earn it, however it is over now, the last day being 1/18/2017/

 Prinz Eugen and Graf Spee will show their faces again, unless they get put on WG's not for sale anymore list a prem ship always shows up more then once. Not mention a good chunk of the "rare" premium's were added to the tech tree's. There is also a small chance you can get a premium ship from a super container. So I'm sure you'll get another chance or two.

I would like to buy the Graf Spee but missed the purchase date, it's looks like a fun ship to play with.  Being that it has the same size shell/turrets, does it shoot the same as the guns on the Scharnhorst minus 1 turret of course?  So far Scharnhorst has been the most fun ship for me to date, even better than Gneisenau.   I still want to buy the Graf Spee if it comes back up in store.
