485 Cruiser_Maya Members 1,216 posts 951 battles Report post #1 Posted December 8, 2016 Just got it this afternoon... I'm at a complete friggin' loss. I keep having good games but... I don't know. It's this OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. I just got out of a match when I killed 4 ships and our Yamato spent the entire game turning circles out of combat before running into an island as the last man standing and blowing up. If you were expecting high-quality teams, you will be sorely disappointed to find that people who fail enough will drive around broadside in Montanas or not know how to use fighters. Well, more of them have. Just do your best and don't take it as a slight on your personal performance when they throw games you're in. 7,521 [HINON] RipNuN2 Members 14,340 posts Report post #5 Posted December 8, 2016 Dont beat yourself up too much, you only have 13 battles in her, I'm sure it will even out once you get more battles in. Taking a break occasionally if you have a few losses in a row can also be helpful.

Do your best, screw your WR because WR means Jack squat when your team is full of sub par players , Do your damage, get your coin, move on.

The ships at tier 10 aren't durable/maneuverable enough for teamwork. It's a miracle if I go through a single game in my Yamato without some "team" mate smashing into me. THIRTEEN?! Sigh. I can't even. PS Oh look, you played one more game and now your Zao WR is 43%. Is that telling you something? Getting these tier 10 ships isn't cheap. And running these ships isn't cheap either. I spend a year grinding up to a Yamato, and I've only 22 battles in her despite owning her for a while already. I spend a year grinding up to a Yamato, and I've only 22 battles in her. That's not the point. The point is that Cruiser_Maya is complaining about win rate after basically playing a dozen games. That's like complaining that you got four heads after you flipped a coin ten times. Cruiser_Maya also has a 70% win rate in Karlsruhe, after playing ten games. Do you think he started a thread then, complaining how he got a higher WR than should have expected in that ship?

You should know by now that not all damage is created equal. You can easily do 125k damage to a Yamato and when you die, he's still at 50k because fire and HE damage is 100% healable. You should be using your laser beams to wreck cruisers. Then you can farm the BB's.
112 anonym_QOibb7dMvRGh Members 557 posts Report post #16 Posted December 8, 2016 When I got the Cleveland, post awesome, I lost the first 8 games before my first win. I never recovered to a 50%+ win rate before unlocking the PepsiCola, and only played her in ranked one season, which doesn't affect your win rate. Then I got the Farragut and used her in ranked. Have only taken the Cleveland out once since that past ranked season, and that was to complete one of the missions now going on. Got my win, then back in moth balls. Don't worry, the Zao is OP, just give it time. Good luck and fair seas!

I just bought Bismarck and was really excited to get it (love the ship and history), but its not loving me back... only 11 games in and a 18% WR. I know everyone will say its not enough of a sample, and they are right. It just takes time I think. Lol, almost want to go back to Gneisenau... not a very good WR on her either, but damn fun to play. Hang in there, Im sure it'll get better with time. 1 [OPFOR] Tesla67 Members 14 posts 7,750 battles Report post #24 Posted December 9, 2016 It is different than you expected? With all the talk about how OP they are you feel like you will just drive around bouncing shells off your side and not worry. But reality is you must really focus on your surroundings. Every enemy ship will focus on you as soon as you are detected. The ship is very fun when you can get your HE then AP combos working and just crush ships. Planes and long range detect DD's are your worst nightmare. Several good battles would have been great battles until some plane detected me while I was focusing on an enemy ship. Then poof over half your HP is gone in one salvo and the entire sky will be covered with HE spammers sending their love your way. As others said just stay with it and enjoy. Also you might hone your targeting in CO-OP it is most gratifying when you can get 4 citidels on one salvo.
41 Lord_Adm_Nelson Members 381 posts 5,656 battles Report post #25 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) I am not a good player by any stretch but it usually takes some time in a new ship to get the hang. Some ships you can step into....Fuso/Nagato and be OK. I think High level cruiser is perhaps the most difficult aspect of WOW's. If anything I learned in lower tier BB's was to knock out fire bug cruisers early and quickly, or at least punish them so hard they are combat ineffective remainder of game, letting other cruisers or DD's pick them off. I would still stand behind what I said about an even further decline in communication higher up. Granted I only have about a 100 games in T9/T10 ships.
