Why number of posts instead of number of games?

On the WOT forum the number of games played is listed under the person's avatar. That would seem more important to know that how many forum posts he has. Any chance f changing this number in WOWs?

Most of us put warship.today stats in our signature...

So far, no, I haven't heard of any function like that in Wows forums.

Perhaps WG want us to avoid some pointless comparing, judging and stat shaming...

Because then people like me can't get ridiculed for having over twice as many posts than games played.

Cause when it comes to being on a message board, your message board activity, IE post count, is more indicative of message board activity than some other activity indicator.

If you want to see if my message board activity is backed up only by more message board activity, or by games played across many lines and types, the onus is on you to figure it out.

LOL...like that isn't already going on in WOWs. Thing is, a person could have thousands of posts, and only a couple of hundred games. So his opinions and analysis would be less useful/legitimate than a person with thousands of GAMES. And a quite a few people don't put their stats in their signature for a whole variety of reasons. All a lot of posts means, is that the person is real "chatty". Otherwise, it's not a useful number.

It's meant primarily to gauge someone's activity on this message board. That means it's a very useful metric. Of course, if people use it for other purposes, it becomes less useful. If you're really concerned with finding out if someone advising you knows what they're talking about, there are a lot better measures than a number in someone's forum avatar showing battles played, like their in game player profile with ship statistics, the WG website showing overall performance and individual ship performance, or sites like Warships Today which will also show all those metrics.

The most that can be said of making this change is that it would do no harm, but it is equally valid to say that making the change would swap one relatively meaningless number of a 2nd equally meaningless number.
