Devs for 1 day ¿What would you change in the game?

We all have some concerns and disagreement of how the game is being handled in term of balance, economy, MM, etc. I'm only active on forums like about a year, and since that there had been quite lot of interesting/polemic changes(or attempt) and additions to game and i saw plenty of threads about them. Going to mention some of them that come to my mind now: Emperator Nikolai, nerf on Mogami 155s, nerfs on BBs manoeuvrability, nerfs on IJN dds, Team Battles, nerf on expert marksman, buff Kutuzov gun range, Saipan, Belfast, Containers, MM for t3-4 ships, RN cruisers, German bbs secondarys, nerf on BBs bow armor, nerf on high tier soviet dds, etc. I might be forgetting some of them.

So, lets say you can be part of the develop team and change some of the aspects of the game, what would you change? is there something that bother you that you would like to change or remove?

Personally i would love to remove that damn policy where it isnt allowed to change(nerf)/rebalance premiums ships at all, no matter what.. If a ship accidentaly go on sale being OP we kinda need to deal with it and chill? Rencently bought Hiryu (im still learning on cvs) and having to face AS Saipans with tier 9 planes is just stupid, that ships i think is just quite overpowered for a tier 7. And also the Kutuzov of course, i'm just dont get that because of the removal of AFT for 6 inch guns they felt that they need to buff the range, 19km range is just ridiculous with those laser arcs, rof, fire chance + it has smoke? seriously? They are supposedly against HE spam meta but yeah, this still exists.

lol, yeah that was a bit of a complain, ok.

So, what would you change if you were dev? like to add submarines? +3-3 MM for Emerald? make Yamato more competitive again? increase chance of detonation by 107,9%?

oh, forgot Kitakami!

I mean, if I had the skill to do it in one day, i'd probably improve the AI or at least change the way co-op works so it's actually interesting and not just the bot rush it is now. Give something to the co-op players.

Increase the gun range and AA armament of the Marblehead.

Decrease the detection range of the Pensacola, maybe even down tier her. 

Buff the Warspite turret rotation, not crazy fast but faster than continental drift. 

Remove all flags that increase detonation chance from Try Your Luck containers.

1: Introduce HMCS Haida as a tier 7 premium.

2: Fix CVs by slightly nerfing AA across the board, by giving all USN CV loadouts at least one fighter squadron, by removing the strafing mechanic, by giving IJN planes a durability buff, and by removing the Saipan from the game.

3: Give everyone 20 Juliet Charlie flags for each day they log in (just to shut up the people who whine about detonations).

4: Make the citadels of German BBs able to be hit through their broadside.

5: Give significant XP and credit bonuses for tanking shots at mid-close ranges and for secondary battery hits as so to promote close range fighting.

6: Make all citadels easier to hit at all ranges (i.e. less overpens) as so to encourage armour angling and dodging shots.

7: Make the Gremyashchy available to purchase again since it's not much different from the Blyskawica.

8: Decrease the detection range of the Pensacola.

I'd make it so that ARP ships appear and sound like normal ships and can take IJN captains - outside of their usual port. Essentially, create a clean separation that makes both history buffs and anime fans happy.

Probably change tier five to +/-1, or find some way to reduce how often tier fives see tier sevens. I've been trying to get my youngest brother involved with the game more, but the other day he pretty much rage-quit his tier five grinds because every single game he played in them was against tier sevens. He's actually a decent, albeit newer player and he does fine when being the bottom tier (he also has a New Orleans, so it's nothing new - he also got there prior to MM changes), but having to constantly face that challenge can be frustrating for newer players and makes it feel like a wall.

If I were a Dev for a day, Knowing my changes would revert after 24 hours, I'd gift Everyone the Kitakami/Tier VIII Cruiser with 40 Torp tubes,that has the Armour and guns of the Kuma, and make mad stax off selling salt from the tears of people who get rocked.

 

 

And I'd remove the Saipan.

 

 

And I'd readd the Space Battleship Yamato with Working Wave Motion Gun :^)

- Convert USN carrier squadrons to 4 planes and give them equivalent numbers of squadrons to their IJN counterparts, with the resulting aircraft stat adjustments necessary to maintain parity.

- All tiers matchmaking +/-1

- Fix the armor/penetration mechanics per a suggestion seen earlier in the forums to rework overmatch

- Fix radar working through mountains

- Fix Mogami's 15.5cm and Cleveland's traverse and reload rates now that captain skills no longer affect them.

- Downtier New Orleans to 7, add Wichita at 8, per TalonV's suggestion. What happens to Pensacola is up for debate.

- Add Yukikaze as a premium tier 8 IJN destroyer. Special trait: Miracle Ship. Engine/rudder/launchers/guns cannot be disabled.

Remove air spotting of Type 93 torpedoes. Switch spotting distances between RU and IJN torpedoes of same tier 6-10.
Boom. IJN DDs have a niche once more.

 

Reintroduce citadel hits on DDs for 155mm and smaller rounds.   Smart usage of AP vs HE should dominate knifefighting.

 

Reverse all CV nerfs.  Increase CA rewards for anti air and unbork Clear Sky.

Boom BBs get their skill floor increased and teamwork becomes more essential.

My stuff :

 - Re-add Kitakami as a mission.


 

 - Re-add all arp missions with no expiry date, can be completed in any game mode (well, not training), can only complete one at a time.  Why?  I'm very casual, I'm half-way into the second step for Takao, and it's going away next week-end already.  I always run out of time to do missions usually. In fact, all missions should be permanent BUT you get to complete one at a time.  Problem solved.  Missions can be "paused" if someone wants to do another one (say you like the new one WG just introduced)


 

 - Turn our 10 tier tech tree into a 15 tier tech tree.  Tier0 are for new players, we can't play there.  Tier 2-3 become for pre-dread and dreadnaught-era ships (easier to balance Mikasa and the likes), then most tiers up to 6 each becomes 2 tiers.  Nikolai becomes tier 4.5, Myogi becomes tier 3.5 (same as St-Louis).  A rebalance of sorts without nerfing anything.


 

 - Un-nerf Minekaze and re-introduction of her 10km torps, (Not on the premium Minekazes tho).

 - In fact, un-nerf of ALL Japanese DDs, even T10's.  If torpedo damage is too much, we will nerf torpedo damage only (and flooding chance if applicable).

 - Keep IJN split, torp boats retain the good torps,

 - IJN Gunboat line total rebalancing, so pushed back.

 - Un-nerf for DD smoke (charges and stuff that was taken away in OBT), except on capture points to prevent the kind of stupidity displayed in CBT (where a lone DD could cap even with 5 ppl firing blind... because smoke).

 - Keeping Radar but not tru islands anymore.

 - Hydro acoustic is now a passive.  When mounted it has no charges, is always on, but can be temporary disabled with a module hit (same as engine/steering/etc)... and in some rare case, taken out for the battle.


 

 - CV gets to pick whatever loadouts they want, like World of Tank players mixes their ammo before the battle.

 - Introduction of a 4-vs-4 carrier battles, with very good rewards for shooting down planes (Bring your Cleveland!), in large (t10 size) maps.  The goal is to sink the opposing team CV's and nothing else.

 - Removal of Strafe for fighters.

 - Rework of Dog-fighting experts and a whole new slew of carrier skills for captains.  Like I want 2-3 meta with enough choices for a 20 skill-captain.

 - IJN and USN get same sized squadrons (going with more of smaller size, every nation get the current IJN number of squads), BUT each nation get specials built-in into their planes.

 --> USN get more fighter HPs, their Dive bomber are more AA resilient and have better bombs

 --> IJN gets faster fighters and plane dropped Torpedoes.

 --> other nations gets other things (UK could get half agility buff of IJN and half HP buff of USN), Germans could get more plane Damage output (so faster shooting down Bombers/fighters)... etc.


 

 - Low-tier BBs get a dispersion buff all around, but a damage nerf of sorts.  CA/CL vs BB balance at low-tiers was always borked until tier5 anyways.

 - Speaking of low-tier BBs, Mikasa gets 4.5km secondaries (no access to the range module), for 5.4km with a good captain.


 

 - Absolute priority on RN Battleship/Battlecruiser line... like this **** needs to be out before last week.

 - Bundle on the shop for "The two Brothers"... Features the "Hood" (Biggest T7 BC) and the "Prince of Wales" (T8 BB). After a week of the bundle (with each ship being 20% off) both ships come on the shop indivisdually but w/o rebates.


 

 - Make fire prevention skill useful.


 

 - Re-introduction of the 50% maintenance rebate in Co-Op battles.


 

 - Variations of the the Halloween escort mode for T10 ships, with a PvP version too... Good incentive to play even when getting defeat-in-a-row to encourage it's proper population.


 

Out of Ideas right now, but I'm sure I would be far from over if this was my day job.

Thoroughly enjoying what everyone is writing so far !

I know your feel. I ran out of time for the ARP Myoko. Finished the insane fires mission on sunday, then mission was over monday morning...

Don't think I agree. I don't want the AI to camp the spawn or just point the bow at the enemy from the spawn line like in some modes of the game. I like that the bots are as aggressive as the human players in Co-Op. And I have been in enough losses in upper level Co-Op to NOT want to improve them too much. So no, I don't think giving a skill or strategy improvement for Co-Op is really necessary. Besides, if people want a bigger challenge in game play, they can go to PvP. LOL...almost like saying go to he** :teethhappy: Also, if you make the bots harder to kill, people are going to ask for an increase in credit earning. We just got WG to reduce the Service Fee to a manageable level in Co-Op. Sure don't want them jacking it back up again.
