Good morning all,

Just had a quick thought to pass along here regarding WoWs and its future progress.  Forgive me as I'm not involved with other WG titles to potentially know this answer.

What is the end game for World of Warships?  I mean, what happens when all relevant nations and tech tree branches are added to the game and there isn't really any new content to add?  I'm sure most MMO's have a certain life span, but I'm just curious to know how do the developers proceed once this game is completely filled out.

Do MMO's still have legs once all the relevant content is released in-game?  Clearly, we're talking a few years down the road with this subject matter.  I'm just curious as how they keep these type of games relevant over an extended period of time.

There are always new things to add. Even if all nations and lines are out, there will also be new things to do.

Such as...Maybe add in another era of ships like Pte-1900 navies; new game modes etc...There will always be interesting things

But of course like every game, it will come to an end, due to whatever reason. But at that time, there might be a World of Warships 2 built with new technologies developed in the years and we can just restart every tech tree again~

Well, I doubt that they will ever run out of material before the game runs its course and technological improvements forces the release of WoWs2 to keep up with competition.

Someone looked at the numbers and with the current rate of releases they have enough ship lines for the next 5 years, and premium ships for almost 7 more years.  Throw in campaigns, clans, team battles, new modes, etc, they likely could stretch fresh content out for 10 years or so.

Well... seeing as how WoT is still chugging along with content, I don't foresee any dry-spells here in Warships for at least 4-5 years. There are far too many navies, ships, and features to be had here - CW (probably on a more global scale since oceans are vast and many nations were involved), a clan system in general, and as long as there are animes out there - there'll always be some humorous or entertaining events to add in.

... then there's always the possibility of expansion by "dropping the bottom off the horizon" (i.e. subs) which *may or may not* completely change the way we play.

...as a final piece of evolution, WG may even go as far as to combine Warplanes and Warships for a special game mode or maybe use the combined feature for CW - that'd be an interesting battle having player controlled planes, and clans so well-organized that they could make flights and formations. :yes_cap:

I would say for me, CW is a sort of end game. I am awaiting some kind of movement on this as it will determine how much time i dedicate to the game in the future.

Personally having a tier 10 ship is nice and all, but battle arena's only go so far in stimulating me... Need some kind of end game.

Guys the end game is this. PvP action. When you break everything down, at the end of the day, it all comes down to putting steel on target. That is the end game.

Its a PvP game, you unlock/buy all the ships you want to play and play the game with them. League of legends doesn't stop once you unlock every champion and rune.

If your motivation for playing this game is to be a completionist I got some bad news for you

Besides the end of their ability to add content (long in the future as said above), there is always the issue of attracting new players. The player base has to grow. If it starts to decline steadily, for whatever reason, then you have a problem.

I'm in it for the long run. Been waiting for a decent Navy battle game for years. Now I found it. I am set for some time (to my wife's annoyance).

The end game will come when REAL war breaks out.

Then things like WOWS will not be allowed to continue and improve.

At best, it will languish while more important matters require our attention..

...

I know we are not allowed to talk about politics here....  but brutal mistakes in that area is the end of our game.

There is no end game or end of content for WoWS.    Compare the World of Tanks initial tech trees with the huge monstrosities they have now over there.

As long as people keep playing Warships they will continue to release ships and lines.

Games will go on until WG is out of business or the amount of $$ generated from WoWS reaches 0 along with players count.

No real end game so to speak, except for the one you set for yourself.  Set your own goals and once achieved, set more.

I find F2P model, end game is just money sucking pita, there's no end game to talk about

in subscription based game like WOW, end game is the fun, getting there is the grind

but in WOWS lower tier is the fun, "end game" is the pain

I think this model doesn't work that well...

Agreed on all parts (especially the wife one).

I'm not saying anything about looking for an end game, as I find myself drawn to the strategy of each match more than any particular finish line.  I was just curious to see what you guys thought of the future and where we see this franchise down the road.

Definitely some interesting points brought up here.

I am hoping for more game modes including assault and convoy duty. I think the Halloween event proved there is a segment of the players like the mode but it I feel it was implemented badly {my opinion}. Now full disclosure is I am a casual player of this game and for now it is the friends I have online is the main reason I keep logging in. No matter how good the game gets once friends move on the game will lose it's appeal. Until then, more modes please.

New content, sure, along with rebalancing and announcements and all the usual public side of F2P games. That's what WG will dish out.

End game is whatever goal you choose, be it grinding a ship line, playing a certain # of battles daily, playing with friends, chilling on pve, or whatever.

actually a good end game should be everyone T10, balanced, a real test of skills

but that doesn't bring WG money, so just wishful thinking

Well, first off, given the rate at which they are adding ships, if a player has gotten to the point where they've reached every tier X ship in the game, they should maybe consider stepping away from the computer for a bit and exploring Real Life ™.

That being said, I suspect more and more game modes will be added. Not only different types of battles (random, ranked, team, clan, etc), but also modes within those. For example, I'd love to see missions that involve shelling surface emplacements for troops landing. Sort of like a D-Day kind of experience. Could be PVP on both sides of the map, or a coop mission where all players work together to first clear out all defending ships, and then shell the beaches ... and all of that within a time limit. Or escort missions for cargo transports with just a bunch of cruisers and destroyers. Basically, more than just your typical capture the flag scenarios that we have right now.

CTF and Team Deathmatch combined, you mean.

It'd make these missions more interesting if we could use any ship in the tech tree, with stipulation we have it stock with 0 zero upgrades if we didn't unlock it via regular pve/pvp play. I haven't got Essex, for example, so I use that CV, I'm using Lexington's planes. At least we could check out a particular ship some for hands-on XP.

Though it'd be hilarious to see how many complain about "wow this T9 is pure junk!" and then players chime in "uh, it was stock, so of course it'd be junkie."
