Option: Opt out of certain maps?

Would you like to see an option to opt out of certain maps?

 

I would prefer it, but i am fine with everything we get now. I am not a real big fan of The Islands of Ice? Map, but other than that, I pretty much like them all. But if i could I would opt out of the Islands of Ice, (hope i am saying that one right.)

No can do. With a smallish user base, that means some maps and some times of day, you would wait for a long time to get a match.

Adapt to the situation. Sometimes you are in a Colorado in map full of Omahas, sometimes you are Furutaka in Ocean and full of red BBs.

Adapt and overcome.

Nah random is random, just like the idea of opting out of CV battles the random nature of maps mean some maps favor certain ship types over others and the ability to opt out of certain ones could be a source of imbalance.

Cyclones are fun. How can you hate finding a BB immediately inside of your torpedo range? Or a broadside cruiser ready for the nuking? A DD inside radar range automatically...

Because Cyclones = less damage = less xp = less fun.

 

Cyclones = less rewards.

 

Cyclones = annoying.

You don't have to love every map and just this one map shouldn't stop you from advancing to T8. T8 offers you some of the best ships you will ever get. Hipper for example is a ship I would marry if it was legal.

 

I remember being in a Furutaka in a T7 match on Ocean with an enemy carrier being highest Tier. Of course there were no twin guns on her at that time and she was far from being a great ship. So I simply stayed with our carrier and escorted it. One T6 DD sunk and three planes shot down. Not placed top but still better than other T7 ships.

 

I find Northern Lights to be a good looking map just because it is a night map. If it would affect the view range it would be even better.

I never once said I WANTED to Opt out, etc. I asked what others felt about it and made a kind of a joke about not really caring for IOI. That was all.

As much as I would like that, it would likely mess with matchmaking too much.  People complain about MM enough as it it.  We'd get longer waits for a game AND messed up teammates and opponents.  So, I'd vote against this option.

If the comments are there to see & I disagree with your opinion then I will reply (with my own opinion) especially when I believe you are on the wrong side of the argument. That's all.

The main topic here is 'opting out' of certain features (map/cyclones/etc). Why? You can't handle some 'feature'?

I can. I just play without complaining about any 'features' and I suggest all you map & cyclone whiners do the same.

I do too, play to win, that is. However, I do not whine about cyclones & when they show up the spotting range changes. Duh! 

Adapt or die. Just don't whine about the weather effects. Did the big Bad Cyclone 'touch' you 'little one'?
