I'm wondering when ships get hit and damaged what will happen to the ship models.  Like will the ships change to show the damage to certain parts of the ships like holes in the ship where it was hit and such.  I know in WoT you couldn't really show anything and in WoWP I know they show wing damage and such.  So it will be very interesting to see what happens.

I want ships to be able to take in water and start listing. And a ship shouldn't have hitpoints, they should be put out of action by disabling it or by having it sunken after taking in enough water or capsizing completely.

From previous Q&A session:

"The damage model is quite complex. We map out the interiors of the ships in detail. For example, all of the ships’ surfaces will have various armor ratings. If a shell penetrates the armor we’ll calculate the trajectory and depth, and thereby track which internal modules will be damaged by its path.

 

Ships will careen off course, they’ll trim differently to the fore and rear depending on what is hit, they will even keel over in some cases or completely break apart or explode when ammo or boilers are hit."

I want a well places round to penetrate the deck and ignite the powder magazine, ballooning the ship into a brilliant fiery explosion that blasts the ships into two shredded halves and hundreds of ballistic chunks of superstructure. e.g. HMS Hood

i will be intereseted in how they model flooding, if i take two torps on the port side and take on a list can I counter flood void spaces on my starboard to correct the list?

its been confirmed taht ships can and will get take on water if shot in certain spots

I feel like it will be a lot like targeting tracks in WoT.  Hitting ships below the waterline will probably cause a lot of secondary problems that will allow you to pummel them with your guns close in.

Tha's possible but they have stated tht if a ship takes too much water it can sink. Although I think it will be like losing all of your crew in WOT, very rare. However it probably will be hell on your ship.

I dunno, I'd think that ships taking on water and sinking would be the single most common thing to happen in World of Warships, considering that's the only way to make sure a warship is taken out of the fight.

I'm sure it will be less rare than losing the whole crew. I've only had that happen maybe once in the last 3k games I've played in WoT. How likely it is to happen relative to hp loss depends on exactly how arcade-like WG wants to go. Since I suspect WoWs will feel a little less arcadey than WoT, I'm personally betting on a fairly high rate of incidence.

That's a good point, we will have to see how arcadey the damage system is, and I'm sure it might undergo shanges.

Will it be possible to knock out just part of the guns in a turret, one out of three on a battleship, or will the whole turret be knocked out?

There is damage shown in WoT as well as non pen hits. They are going to add more to WoT as well soon, such as moving antenna whips and such.

According to the wiki you will have 2 meters, one is HP the other is buoyancy. As you take damage, you lose HP due to damage and buoyancy due to taking in sea water. Any of them reaches 0 you will sink.
