My First Official Kraken

And probably the least impressive one you'll ever see.  Or would have seen, because update this morning so no point even uploading the replay file.  Also the first time in more than 1800 battles that I finished with exactly 5 kills--I managed 6 a couple times before they added the kraken unleashed achievement, and I've logged 4 kills more times than I could count, just never five.  And I almost screwed this one up, too, except we won on tick rate while I was working over a Myoko with less than 3k HP left.

 

How unimpressive?  I didn't even finish first on my team in base XP.

Hey, a Kraken is a Kraken regardless of damage/base XP. And you get some neat flags too. Congrats!

I have a tremendous capacity for choking after 4 kills.  RNGesus also seems to absolutely despise me when it comes to doing the last 200 damage to anything; even in this game, I very nearly missed out when I only landed the 1 torpedo hit on a charging Tirpitz to leave him with less than 2k HP, but a friendly cruiser was nice enough to whiff a full salvo and let me get the kill shot.

I had a shot at "beating" that by a huge margin last night.  In my Blys, after plowing through a single enemy DD I found myself unseen in the enemy cap, behind their whole fleet.  I ran into a Chapayev sitting on less than 100 health & trying to hide in the back, finished him off.  Then I counter-ambushed a Sims who started the encounter with under 200 HP.  Had 3 kills with a smidge over 8k damage, then bounced what would have been the kill shot on a burning Cleveland and couldn't quite get to a Mogami on 41HP before someone else finished him.  Could've had the Kraken with less than 9,000 damage if those last two had gone my way.
