British light cruisers are not bad at all. I liked a lot how low tier british cruisers handles. Tight turning and high accelerations are strong points. Guns are also pretty good - better than many thought. Max citadels with one salvo is 6 I manage to do. However British CA:s need islands a lot. Caledon, Danae and Emerald are good ships to play. Turn, dodge and harrash is how to play these.

There are no British CAs. All the British cruisers are CLs.

I'm really not sure where you've drawn the line between what is good (in your view, a CL) and what isn't (in your view a CA).  there is only one line of ships, and they all have CL guns.  So which ships by tier or name are good or not?  I'm really not sure about the point you're making when i can't tell what you're making it about.

CL: light cruiser, with the 152mm guns as their main.

CA: heavy cruiser, with the 203mm guns as their main.

I can't believe that what people are taking issue with in this post is his use of "CA" rather than the insane claim that the British cruisers are "not bad at all".

They get citadeled easier than any other ships in the game. You're lucky if you only take one cit if you get hit. And everyone knows this, so they focus you if you get seen (and you will) even if you're not the closest target, which makes it even worse. They are stuck with one ammo type and the speed of the shells isn't even that good. They turn fairly sluggishly - speed fine but actual rudder shift and turning radius is painful as heck when literally any hit can take half your HP. They are insanely hard to use effectively and they don't seem to have any balance point or payoff that compensates for their awfulness. Anything they can do, other cruisers can do the same or better, plus more. Literally the only exception and good point is the smoke, and even that is pretty pathetic and hard to take advantage of with significant payoff since you need to get close to do damage but you have fairly high detection range and short range guns (and they don't do much damage at range anyway).

... And yes, I am well aware of how they are supposed to be played. I've seen plenty of videos by now, and played the ships for quite a few games.

I am on Leander and it's notably less painful than Emerald, but the whole line is just a miserable concept up to this point. I just want to get Fiji because people seem to love it, then I'll stop there.

If you stop a Fiji, you are going to stop just when the line really starts to shine.

My own experience in them, I like them and it's an exciting game style.

Bubble you are spot on.

fiji is a decent ship that can do well at it's tier and above.

I am at Neptune and it is a grind.

The UK CL's are paper from t-7 on up with guns that do little damage. the torps are fine but expect 1/2 of your health to be gone after your run.

smoke is ok but once its gone your usually done.I know there will be pundits on how to play this line but sitting behind a island is not my cup of tea.pardon the pun.

Give these ships about 10 to 15% better armor and 203's and they can compete at tier.

just my 2 cents.

I just hopped back into them and something has clicked and I'm have a lot of fun with them.

Sure they get citadeled super easy, but that makes them the ultimate distraction. Enemy trying to take a cap or focusing down a useful BB? Hop out and shake you [edited]and watch as the entire enemy team changes there plan to try and smack the EXP piñata screaming "mine mine mine mine".

Indeed, I have been enjoying the line immensely.  Mine seemed cursed to some of the worst teammates I have ever been forced to play with, but that is bad luck, not a problem of the ship.

As stated here, they make great bait, with their great stealth you can get close, fire and get spotted, then run away as every enemy turns to shoot your giant citadel, and wiggle a bit to dodge then disappear again.  Buys your team a lot of free hits.
