Yup, they are coming. The new IJN DDs in their new line. I've seen two so far. The first didn't do so well. The second, captained by the well-known Lord_Zath, did very well, but his team(he was on the enemy team) made him work for damage. He didn't do amazing, but well enough.

 

I wonder if anyone's seen an Akizuki around. That's the one everyone's so hyped up about.

I've seen a couple of Akizukis, nothing too special. I think that Akizuki will struggle to fight other DDs since her HE has insufficient penetration to damage DD extremity armor; 16mm of pen, same tier DDs have ~19mm extremity armor. I'm excited for Yugumo, though. Shipcomrade has her with a significantly higher RoF on her main battery than the current Kagero: 10.5 RPM vs 6.7. A gunboat spec should give her a reload of roughly 4.7 seconds, which will be pretty nasty with how hard IJN HE hits.

Just curious, when the IJN DD split goes live, will the current tech tree ship that we have be replaced by its new equivalent (I have the T7 Hatsuharu right now). Will she be replaced with the Akatsuki, being fully researched already?
