Greetings from Ft Sill

Well this might have nothing to do with ships but the artillery here on display is awesome. I will be here for a couple more weeks and hope to get inside the artillery museum. I wonder if there will be any coastal artillery in future game releases. I would be interesting to have big guns and ships battling it out.

Reading the section about the D-Day shore bombardments in "The Ship That Would Not Die", it seems that coastal guns were a mere nuisance to ships simply due to once they were fixed on the range they could be bombarded and had no evasive capabilities. As Julius Becton said it's the ability to "Steam and Shoot" which will always win a gunnery duel. Shore batteries would be a distraction that would only serve to smack a small bit of HP off noobish players before getting smacked by anyone who knows what they are doing.

My son did his basic at Ft. Sill, and the arty museum is awesome. I had some great pics, but my camera had a melt down before I got them down loaded and I lost them all .
