I've been looking at the stern of my 'Swan a lot while waiting for the game to start and in front of the depth charge (or maybe mine) racks there are on either side a row of canisters on pedestals arrayed in an arc pointing sternward and outboard.  Whatever's loaded in them is heavy as there is a small derrick at the focus of the arc.  I've looked in Wiki and it mentioned the class was fitted with hedgehog projectors but those don't look anything like that.  I'm also dubious that they fling anything outward because the canisters are horizontal rather then pointing a bit upwards like you'd expect.  They're not ready ammunition for the main guns because they're not even on the same level as the aft-most turret.  Any ideas what they might be?

Depth charge throwers is my guess. It is an ASW ship and like the US DE's wasn't meant for fleet combat.

Probably Y-guns, Depth charge throwers basically, They complement the rolled depth charges, so if a sub turns away from the rolled ones, the Y-guns get them

You'd think they'd be pointing upward a bit.  Wiki mentions "depth charge throwers" so I guess you're right.

Height is adjustable, as that changes how far out they are thrown from the stern. So probably put in a storage position ingame.
