OK, so it is a lot of fun, but can be very "busy" with everyone running like chickens...
SO, here's some things I noticed while playing...

#1 Catapults...

NASTY, and can ruin everyone's day, especially near the end...when there are 6 BBs and 5 of them shooting giant fireballs of death on your DD's.....
BBs can delete them in ONE AP salvo, 95% of the time...SO BB's should focus on them first...
DD's and Cruisers don't do great against them, but get focused on by them more, BB's take them OUT!!

#1, Enemies....
IGOR is a fire starter, maybe the best in the game at it, so Concentrate on enemies and start a fire, change target, start a fire change back, etc... and DD's??? YOU fire torps for days, but be AWARE of your team mates.

The enemy will dodge a bit... and with the fast reload of torps you can really focus on two BB's at once and help delete them...
Working together you can really do well if everyone focus's on their task.. Yes BB's are good, but they are best used to take out catapults first and foremost... from all I have seen and tried, they really work the best to take away  that threat... and that threat can delete DD's fast if not taken care of...
Now the end game with Raz.... hes a madman and you will need ALL the torps you can muster to get him, even if it is to make him turn while IGOR reigns fire upon him....
It is fun, and difficult to win this, but if you can muster the team work and figure this all out, you can win... games Have been won (not yet by my teams but is does happen)

Oh and in case you did not already know... NEVER have no ships inside the circle... that circle needs to stay GREEN!!! or TREATS stops moving.... and never EVER let an enemy inside that circle

I have seen SS's of games won having the TREAT take more than 50% HP loss, but it is just one objective that can be failed and still win. If She stops moving chances are you will lose

I hope this helps give you ideas of the best ways to play the ships... especially the BB's... seems odd that their first targets would NOT be enemy BB's... but given the Fire of IGOR and the torp reload speed of that DD.... you can let THEM handle the enemy BB's and  you can just take out any Catapults... then focus on BB's...

Just my Two cents and observations trying things in game....
Have fun everyone

Nice info. Only played it once, and barely knew what I was doing. I did DD and shot everything in sight, until I got TKd by a torp.

Now I see what you mean.

Igor can really kill the catapults quickly with AP. Otherwise, it should be firing HE (and switching targets often).

DDs, save your smoke until the last bit and then smoke the hell out of everything, especially in front of the Trans.

Everyone should stay near the green circle (in the least). BBs and CAs should be in green circle at all times.

agree on that first part... BUT I took YOUR earlier post about IGOR and fire and really went with her ONLY focusing on the BBs to set them ablaze... Yeah BBs can get good hits, but I did notice that Citadels are not too easy to get because most times those BBS are angled... so the fire and torps make a difference... so meanwhile BBs can take out the Cats fast and go back to BB shootin`!

But MAN that Igor can make fire from water!!!

Very good points here.

It is also critical that DD's survive and scout ahead for the team, while the cruisers and BB's stay in the circle to keep Transylvania moving as quickly as possible (more friendlies in the circle, the faster she moves).  Had a match yesterday where all our DD's got too close to the Zikasas and got wasted by their secondaries (4km range).  Our team was toast once we didn't have anyone to scout or use torps to decimate the BB's.

That's the perfect tactics to employ - exactly that. Thanks pmgaudio for delivering it so well. +1

that is correct... more ships faster TREATS....but be CAREFUL... scouting too far ahead will reveal MORE Z's, and three at a time is good... 6? not so much....my experience in the DD, is NOT getting too close... torps do great when firing a salvo, waiting till maybe Half load and let the other's go... you then have three every 5-6 seconds, narrow spread... I seem to notice most Zs are almost NEVER broadside...

Halfway through the game I also notice something very important. actually Near the end... there are ALWAYS TWO Z's that pop up BEHIND the fleet... right about a minute before Raz appears....annoys the hell out of me...because if you do not try to get them, they will catch up and make it even harder to fight Raz....I have tried to torp them, and succeeded once, but still managed to get deleted by a Catapult no one shot...

and yes, those secondaries can really do a hurting to a DD...

Nicely put pmgaudio, these are the same tactics I noticed on my first win. Had a great team and 2 of the DD's made it to the late game to nuke the boss thankfully.

The one BIG thing people should learn is to let the BBs control the Transylvania speed. If everyone else piles in, you risk leaving your BBs behind and making them useless and unable to protect the Transylvania. Kind of like Ace said.

Good to know. The one time I played BB, I couldn't keep up. Playing the DD, I try to stay in the circle.

Anyone else noticing bots in this?  BBs that head off south when the game starts, and never really try to catch the team, nor are they any help with the catapults or ships.

Seen this at least twice last night, cost us the game once...  :(

Good point on letting BBs control the Trans speed.  Good info all around.

Also,

The objective ship moves fast enough to not have to worry about threats from behind, there is little or no need for ships to lag significantly behind as most/all of the threats appear from the front or forward sides.

I cry every time people go for the 2~4 Zikasas at the west side of the map during wave 2  and 3.

They never catch up even if the ship stops.

Iirc their max speed is like 10 knots or something.

I wonder if it'd be better to just have one BB in the circle with the Transylvania, and no CAs.  The one time I tried it in the BB there were several friendlies in the circle, and I fell behind and almost couldn't catch up, which made it hard to contribute as the catapults were pounding the team before I could get in range.

EDIT:  Read the reddit post and now I get it.  The first ship in the circle sets the speed?  So BB in first, then everyone else piles in.  Which explains why when a DD gets in first the BBs get left behind.

This right here is the main reason to have BBs in the circle. The best way to handle it is to have a BB to both the right and left sides. There are two reasons for this I've found. First reason is because, while it sucks for the player, they will be targets for the Catapults more than the Transylvania. This keeps it sailing longer. Also, their range not only helps the T on the voyage but their range also makes it so they can take the heat off of the Destroyers and Cruisers.

It would be nice if the BB's had a little longer range on their guns.  The BB's can get out ranged by the catapults if they stay close to the Transylvania at all times.

If you like living on the edge, a DD is also quite useful to get shot at by the catapults because they can easily be dodged

but if you get shot at by a lot of catapults (I had a moment where I was shot by four catapults...) and even one hits you it's more than half your HP gone.

I just played a game in a DD. As long as you use the magic powers of WASD, you can avoid most of the fireballs. They come at you so slow you should be able to dodge.

We had a fella in a cruiser who kept telling people to stay OUT of the circle and was actually shooting team members who were inside the circle saying THEY were why the Transylvania was stopping.

I told him essentially what the OP wrote and he wrote back to me, "yeah, good luck with that."

You just can't explain things to some people.

That assumes we see them being fired at us from the other side while trying to torp all the other zombie mikasas no one is paying attention to while the rest of the team focuses on the one farthest away at max firing range and keep missing :hiding:

What's this WASD you speak of? Clearly you need to nerf the catapults.:teethhappy:
