Nice my current best for the Danae is 960 base. Can't remember if it was on a win or defeat though.

But with a Survivability Rating of 0% and W/L at 0.50 I know 2 things.

1) on the winning matches I traded my ship for good enough damage to help the team.

2) on defeats I'm definitely playing to aggressive and need to practice dropping back.

I've got a poor habit of charging when is look at the Mini and it appears that all the ships on my flank are Bow-In towards the direction I'm charging. Only to see after I've sunk that they all stayed on the same line and angled broadsides to engage.

Torp range vs Concealment rating isn't that strong a ratio lower tiers. And it's something I keep forgetting, I'm spoiled by the IJN's Torp Range to Concealment ratios on Cruisers. Have to keep reminding myself I'm in a Yubari-class flying the White Ensign...

I just could not keep the Danae, it was such a dismal disappointment.

Well she is just a Caledon with one extra gun and tougher MM. But at least the team composition is better since the chances of non RN CLs with HE means those who are rolling with their BBs have more to worry about... which hopefully if you trade well will translate to Win Bonuses.

Edit: and remember it's only like 21K exp to grind out the Teir. Which means if it's on your back burner, about a Week of games every so often without Prem time.

yeah, the RN cruisers aren't exactly the easiest ships to play. I personally enjoy them for the fact that they are challenging to use. As dumb as it sounds, the way I  play them is to be like an annoying itch that you can't scratch. Always be the ship that the enemy wants to shoot at, but will only waste its time trying, that's how you help your team by drawing the enemy fire away. Use your maneuverability to dodge fire till they stop trying, then move in to punish them till they focus on you, rinse and repeat.

The Danae is pure, unfiltered fun. It's essentially a big destroyer. Getting games like the one posted is as much fun as you can have playing WoWs. The papier mache armour is what makes it so much fun to play.

If you have experience playing USN DDs, then the Danae feels right at home in your port. Love this ship. Love.

Utter trash.  May as well not even have guns- They're THAT bad.  Most shells miss at any range, thanks to the stupid arcs, and weird angles- you need to lead like you're shooting a high tier russian DD at full speed at range: ie with the enemy ship almost off your screen.   Even then, the occasional shell that hits does nothing.  The lack of HE means you're defenseless vs any BB you encounter outside your torp range.  Cruisers and DD's just laugh at you as they bounce your shells.

My aim is fine.   No problems in virtually any other ship I play.

This one just sucks.  It's only redeeming feature is that it makes the Karlsruhe look good.

  Not worth the effort.  <sold>

Loved torping in the Danae and the ship turns on a dime.

At the end of the day I only had to play 8 games in her to progress so it was short and sweet !

If the shells are performing that badly your aim is not ok. that said you have to hit different parts of enemy ships to do damage with them and that throws a lot of people, so just because you can aim well in other ships dosen;t mean you can aim well in RN CL's.

I liked the ship a lot but the Emerald is where the line really makes it's case.

The Danae is kind of a confused ship. She does well in long range artillery battles with other cruisers. However can't really hurt BB's at that range. She has good torps but terrible armor so suicide torp runs are out of the question. Best to stay at max range with her and only shoot at cruisers until the battle progresses - then try torpedo ambushes.

I think your point about the similarity to USN DDs is very apt.   It felt that way a lot to me as well.   I did a lot of hanging around islands and torping unsuspecting ships coming around them.   When you don't have the luxury of something to hide from at least the excellent torpedo arcs let you launch without having to show to much of your ship.  Sure, you can still be citadeled through the bow but it is at least a far smaller target and BBs at that tier are usually dealing with a lot of dispersion.   I didn't usually get a lot done with the guns but I landed at lot of torps with the Danae.

It's very easy to overextend and get killed instantly in a Brit cruiser. They're so responsive and can put out so much damage that you feel invincible, and that feeling will get you into trouble.

I have an odd problem with my Danae. It suddenly wants to fire just one torpedo at a time. There appears above the torp indicator an "F"

key. any ideas?

Thats the speciality of the britsh cruisers: narrow or single fire torps. the "F" is for mid reload when you don't fire all torps.

Can not stand this ship. I probably am not playing it correctly, but this ship sucks. In regards to the comparison to American DD, I don,'t think that is accurate. I love the American DD, and other than having no arm and crap to crap'ish girls they are not the same.
