Over a year after launch and more than fifteen months since the Closed Beta account wipe, I finally have the Solo Warrior achievement. This has been my white whale. I've come close more than a couple of times, brawling to the bitter end only to be worn down and the medal denied me by the enemy. But this time? This time I got it. It's the last medal I needed from the Battle Achievements. Yet my medal is tainted. The win was pathetic. No fireworks. No desperate struggle in the face of overwhelming odds. No heroic last stand as the seconds tick away. I sat in a cap circle, in my mauled Fujin and stole a victory away from the Red Team. First contact with the Red Team didn't go well for me. In a 3 vs 2 duel, our destroyers got outplayed on our flank and I ran like a beaten dog. The rest of my team mates? They didn't manage to break contact as I did, drip feeding their ships one at a time into the massed guns and torpedoes of the enemy fleet. It honestly looked like a 12 - 0 victory but our team on the other flank fought to the bitter end and dragged 4 ships down before succumbing. So I made good my escape and slipped through the gap in the Red lines to go sit in their cap circle. And despite there being an enemy destroyer within 10km of me when I began capping, no one came back to stop me. Our last AFK ship died just seconds before my cap completed. I did 2,200 damage and earned 600 base experience points. That's my humblebrag. I've thought back to several of my 6 and 7 kill matches and I realized i could have had that medal if it wasn't for afk players in some of them. I had a 7 kill match where I actually killed the last 5 enemy with only one team mate alive and he was an afk New York at spawn. Next time I'll sink the AFK player myself, lol Well done Mouse! Domination on two brothers, I ran around capping and murdering DD's until I figured out my team was losing, so I made sure we were up on cap points then scooted to the edge of the map with my 700 HP and waited for the points to tick up for a win. Situations like this, or where the remainder of the team does all the work and one camper is left alive just long enough to win, give someone credit for something that they - no offense, Mouse - do not deserve. Situations like this, or where the remainder of the team does all the work and one camper is left alive just long enough to win, give someone credit for something that they - no offense, Mouse - do not deserve. The implication of this by the description is that you fought 4 ships and won, rather than hiding from 4 ships and winning. Knowing when to fight and when to hide is a skill based trait. I don't know how many "wins" I've seen thrown away because someone elected to re-engage the enemy instead of safe guarding the advantages their team mates bought for them with their lives. But this doesn't preclude the medal from being earned by accident. It may not be the most skilled player or highest performing player that earns Solo Warrior. It may even be some AFK butt-face who hasn't even hoisted their anchor. I wanted my Solo Warrior to be earned in a brazen display of violence and martial prowess. I instead earned it by cutting my losses early and gambled on the over confidence (or incompetence) of the Reds and my Fujin's great camo rating. You're right though. Earning a Solo Warrior doesn't mean you're skilled or that you displayed an excellent amount of skill and cunning to achieve it. You can get lucky. But being cunning helps. Knowing how to use and abuse mechanics to cheat your opponents of a well deserved win should be applauded. Lord knows I've seen it happen against my team more than a couple of times. It's one of the reasons that I'm so fast to flex back to base when I perceive a threat. Remember there is a difference between receiving something and earning something. Consider it a Karmic balance for all the times that you probably fought hard and earned it, but due to the ever so slightest of bad luck didn't manage to actually receive it. I know due to bugs I have 1 that I earned and 1 that I earned but did not receive, as well as 1 that I neither received nor earned, but according to description I met the requirements for. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I killed four of them and the other two ran away while I capped. My white whale has been the Kraken. I've gotten four kills more times than I can count, but just can't seem to get that fifth which just seems ridiculous to me after around 2,000 games. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Domination round and it was me in a Farragut and my carrier vs four or five battleships. The balance of their team decides to chase our carrier into the far corner of the map leaving me behind to take all the flags and win the game.
