Crates XP requirement should be more linear

like 2k, 8k, 14k...

so to encourage more game play, and easier to fill queues

37k is way too much, right now I usually do 2 crates then done for the day

But nobody is forcing you to get all 3 crates every day? I agree 37k is a lot (especially on a weekday), but not getting that 3rd crate isn't the end of the world.

I kinda agree with you. Earning 37K experience takes common players a lot of time. My daughter has complained me playing the game for a whole afternoon. Perhaps 30K is a more appropriate goal.

Agree that 37 thousand XP in one day is a hell of a grind.   You must either be extremely good or extremely dedicated to reach that goal (or use up a bucketful of XP flags - which I am not about to do.  I save them for captain retraining).  I am definitely not that good and have been able to do it just once so far, and that was only after sitting on my backside all day playing the game, from morning to evening, with breaks in between.  I'm not doing that again, not like that.

it's not about getting 3 crates, it's about gradual increase of xp, so carrot is always within reach, so players will play more

I sure don't bother with the third crate. After all my dailies are done I'm usually barely halfway there, and by then I don't want to play that much more.

I think that's by design.  The first 2?  Easy as pie.  But I can understand why they want to draw that last one out.  The idea is player engagement.  It keeps people playing.

 

I'm just happy we don't need to buy keys for doubloons to open them.

I wish the experience points would carry over to the following day.

Most of the time I can only get 1 or 2 rounds completed in a day due to the other demands of life and if I don't get to 2000 points, then I have effectively wasted my time because the points reset each day.

Under the previous system, I could take my time to get the rewards. The new method penalises those who are casual players and those who cannot devote a significant portion of their lives to the game.

It's non-linear by design. They don't want everyone to get all three crates with little effort, while getting one crate literally requires a game or two.

I can deal with it the way it is.   Either grind it out or pass up that last crate.  I only usually go for the second one unless it's the weekend and I'm okay with that.   They can't give us too much free stuff too easily.

Same here. I've only managed it twice,and I too will not be doing that again.

The system is built specifically to encourage people to play multiple games every day to maximize their rewards. Making all the boxes easy for anyone to get defeats the purpose of the boxes. 

 

Also, if you dont get a box you are not being penalized, these boxes are rewards and are gifts above and beyond what you earn. Not fulfilling the requirements does not take something away you should have gotten it just does not make you eligible for a gift.

Think of that last one as the "stretch goal" box. Maybe the second one too, depending on your playtime and premium status.

as i said, it's not about how many boxes you are going to get, it's about make the carrot always within reach, so people will play more, after I did 12k, I just thought forget 37k so I stop, but if next goal is 20k (just 8k more), then I might want to play another 10 just to see what luck I will get, see it's not game breaking (99.999% just get 5 flags), but it encourages more players and more games, and that will translate to healthy player population and eventually more $$$ for WG, otherwise why bother with dailies at all?

It's better then before, when we only got 1 daily mission a day.  Now we have a potential of earning 3 rewards in a single day if you play a lot.  It's clear that last milepost isn't for everyone, and your not suppose to try for it if you don't have the time.  Before when I played a lot, I'd usually only get the one mission reward, now I earn more.

My only complaint on the exp requirements is that in the old system, taking 2 days off still accrued the missions over those days, so you could do all 3 in short order on the third day.  In the new system, you miss a day and you SOL unless you grind out a lot of exp.  As it is total exp, I'm fine with the current system if it had a catch up mechanic in it.

yes that's also part of the problem, after i do 12k, if i only play more games to reach say 18k, there's a sense of 6k "wasted", which is not a good feeling

Your experience does not necessarily match up with other peoples experience. Depending on the tiers you play and your ability to perform the 3rd box can actually be relatively easy to get.

Want to. With Battlefield 1 out I've been playing that mostly...but when I do sit down to play warships for the majority of my gaming night, I find I make around 50 to 60k exp. What I do t know, however, is if the boxes are base or total exp. It seemed to me it was total as twice I got the first box after one game.

Yeah, I've tried a couple of times and the 3rd crate is simply unattainable.   It takes more than 3 hours of play in a day to get, and that's too much for me.

I dont think the intention was that everyone get three crates every day they play. Playing a standard account with tech tree ships and an average win rate would probably take 30 or 40 games and 7 hours to reach that 3rd crate, which is really there to reward the hard grinders. That said, the first crate can be done in a game or two and the second in a good two hour session usually.

 

That said, with a premium account and premium ships with XP flags, I hit the 37k XP goal in under an hour with 5 amazing games. An outlier with special circumstances to be sure, but it is possible to get them in a short amount of time.
