Should the RN CL line be given HE shell?

Currently RN CL only has AP shells only and i feel there should be a discussion on if they should be given HE shells as well

Just by observation I don't think the RN AP shells are normal AP shells, thus far I have only very rarely seen overpenetrations. There's gotta be some reason otherwise BBs would be near impossible to kill using RN cruisers.

I know there is a lot of rage against HE in general these days. And it seems WG bowed to the trolls on this one to give the RN cruiser only AP. And while it is advanced AP, IMO it underperforms at lower tiers (I'm only to the Danae). I also miss switching ammo types depending on the situation. I don't think HE will ever be added to the line but hope maybe a buff to the AP or something will happen. Seems to be performing fine at t6+ though.

Nah, they don't need HE. We already have enough fire spammers, we don't need a line of cruisers that can hide in smoke and fire from pretty much impunity.

I thought it was a good move. It moves away from fire as the principle mechanic against BB's.  Haven't seen a fire OP thread in a few days after all. The only real problem is that the AP totally sucks at low tiers and getting an inch closer to drop torps is a one-way ticket back to port.

I think they're fine without it, their AP is changed anyways so that it's more effective, and it brings something new that the cruiser now, which mainly use HE.

Rumor is that they're already going to be making changes to the RN CL line.  They're thinking about taking away the Repair Party....which hopefully means that they at least add more armor and HP to the ships to make them competitive pre-T6.

No HE for the Royal Navy CLs.  It did not use HE it used SAP on 6 inch gunned cruisers, which is what WG gave us.  WG is being historically accurate.  RN 6 inch cruisers used SAP in Ship to Ship engagements.  Only using HE in Shore Bombardments.  The WG team made the right call.  The AP WG gave us does nice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Its time to us your skill aka relying on fire to sink ships.  I would not be surprised if Fire chance is reduced at some point soon buy 50% or more.
