Ahoy Fleet! The Update 0.8.0 is here, so please provide any bug reports you may encounter here. Please also check our little guide on how to report a bug here: For each report Please make sure to attach WG Check tool report to your reports! That will help us to better understand the nature of the issue you're experiencing. Please provide your experience on the following: Reworked Aircraft Carriers: Gameplay Ranked Battles: The Eleventh Season Naval Battle: A Clash Between Clans Content Additions and Changes - Lunar New Year Game Balance Changes To report bugs and other "oooops that wasn't how it was supposed to work" items, please go here. #anchorsaweigh
  4. First let me say that I've enjoyed playing your game as it was refreshing to be able to get on from time to time and actually have fun without having to "live" online to advance in the game. Over the years, I've seen many changes, some good, some bad but almost always for the greater good of the game. I see no good coming from the current carrier play format change. Carrier play was, and should always be, about coordinated attacks, multi-tasking and managing the naval battle field. You have effectively removed this aspect and turned it into another first-person-shooter ship that the game already had plenty of. The idea of only flying one type of squadron at a time is about as ludicrous as only being able to fire from one side of your ship. Although I agree that the game had inadequate AA suppression for incoming attacks from aircraft, the solution you've come up with is just silly. For a team dedicated to recreating authenticity in their product, you've really disgraced your own hard work with this change. Until the invention of the aircraft carrier, battleships where always the focal point of the naval fleet. But, almost from its inception, the aircraft carrier replaced the battleship as the focal point of any naval fleet and for good reason. It provided longer reach of attack, superior surveillance of the naval theater and the ability to coordinate and manage the overall fleets survivability in any given situation. Carriers provided that next-level-of-play that some people enjoyed occasionally to take a break from the mindless point-and-shoot first-person-shooter monotony that's rampant in your gameplay. If things stay the same, I'm afraid update 0.8.0 will be the equivalent of 40,260,400,157 bytes of freed-up hard disk space on my system.
  5. The new CV rework seemed to have some unintended consequences manifest that seem rarely talked about. One i'm starting to notice more, and more. It doesn't seem to have a name, so I'm just going to call it "cycle flooding" This is when a CV will send in torpedo bombers and attempt to land one torpedo on the bow or stern with the hopes of causing flooding. The carrier will wait for few seconds forcing the victim to repair the damage, then they return a few seconds later to deliver more torpedoes. This ensures permanent flooding with very little effort. This is detrimental because it is an almost guaranteed death in most situations since the damage control has a much longer cool-down; all in exchange for a minimum of two torpedo hits. It seems fairly frustrating on the receiving end of this. I'm curious if others have noticed if the rework has some other exploits that may not have been fully discussed...
  6. Slow night at work so was looking at the calendar. Starting tomorrow (cst) there is six more days in January. The last official update I read from Femennenly "When will the Rework/8.0 be released? January 2019" Noticed more CV play as of late than ever before. Sad to see the current carrier play style leave, as when I play CV I try to spread out and perma-spot DD's. I've read that will no longer be the case. However always try to focus on the positive. I want to learn the new CV style of play as soon as possible. I am sure the unicum CV players will find a way to optimize the new play style. Just have to learn to adapt and be patient.
  7. So this is a look at the actual numbers that change with the Unique Upgrades (UU) and other upgrades, instead of -x% this and +y% that. I am NOT saying you have to use any particular upgrade. The idea is to look at each upgrade the slot the UU is in and give you the ability to compare numbers between them, so that you can decided whether to try the UU or another upgrade or not. Please go with what you think works best for you after looking at the various upgrades and comments. That said, if you like or dislike an upgrade, please say why as well. That way, people reading this thread and trying to decide if they want the Unique Upgrade or not, have something that gives an opinion on why a UU upgrade or other upgrade works for you or not. I will put my opinion at the end, but realize, my opinion is based on the numbers and not experiece playing with this upgrade, so take it with a large grain of salt. If you find any errors, please let me know and I will update the error appropriately. NOTE! The CV rework just teased is a WIP, so I can not cover that as we have no numbers for anything yet. Until it is planned to go live, I will keep these workups. CV rework is coming in 8.0, Jan 30th, 2019 and these upgrades will be kept if you get them. They will be frozen until a new set of CV Unique Upgrades can be done. The article mentions that it will take time to tweak the CVs and then balance a UU for them. No time given on new stats for UU. Unique Upgrades We're currently working on them, but players who have already managed to obtain them will keep them. However, it’s not currently possible to install them on aircraft carriers for now and they'll remain "frozen" for some time. https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/development/cv8-how-to-tune/ Old UU Master Thread link for ALL T-10 Unique (Legendary) Upgrades

    Ship Horns: Stay or go?

The ship horns ARE awesome, unexpected, but for some, unneeded & annoying...However they can be helpful in impending situations, not to mention the spamming of them IS regulated. Should they stay? Or should they go? Personally, they are way too awesome to leave the game, just leave out the Santa HoHoHo when its not Christmas and ill be completely happy with it. However, I wanna hear from you guys, what is YOUR opinion on the matter and leave a comment to tell us why down below.
  10. I have been recently looking at purchasing the USS Massachusetts on the premium shop, and after checking the price on my phone, I decided to go onto my computer to see that it was more expensove than posted on my phone. On my phone, it is priced at $50.84, but on browser and in game it is priced at $55.81. This is across the board, all priced for premium ships are higher than when posted elsewhere. What is happening here? Does this have anything to do with the update or is this some ripoff?

  12. Can someone please clarify if I am wrong about this. From the way I am reading the update notes, anyone who receives the ship drop from these crates will receive a unique instance of Atago (I will use Atago as the example throughout this post). Who's only defining characteristic is a differently colored permacamo from the default. WHY?!?! What does this accomplish? What on earth could have stopped Wargaming from just gifting a regular Atago that has a new unique permacamo? We've already seen It's not impossible for ships to have multiple kinds of permacamo. I have the anniversary camo for Atago already, not to mention the existence of Sharks v Eagles and Halloween camos for other ships as well. Are you telling me it was less effort for Wargaming to create a duplicate Atago with a different name and different default camo, rather than just gift an Atago with a new camo added? This is ridiculous. Not only will previous owners of these ships have to transfer commanders to play this ship (yes I know it's still free, but it's still annoying to HAVE to do that JUST to see that camo in battle.) But now we also have to spend the not-cheap amount of credits to outfit the upgrades to this unwanted duplicate ship. Wargaming wouldn't even have to give compensation doubloons for previous owners in my book if they don't want to. I would be totally fine with that if it meant I didn't have to have THREE Atago clones in my port!

  17. In regards to the new Clan Naval Base, the update notes don't say anything to how much the New Buildings in the clan base Cost in Oil. As a clan leader I would have liked to know ahead of time so that I can discuss with my members what we would like to prioritize, but there is no mention of this in the patch notes. I did note that in the PTS it was 830,000 oil (I believe) to fully upgrade the base. However, what you have to do in PTS to earn things is often different on the Live Server. Any answers would be appreciated, or post below if you would like this info too.
  18. Whenever WOWs downloads a new update on my PC the Windows UI (mouse pointing) etc. gets very unresponsive (during the update process). Basically I can't browse the internet during the download. It's probably more of a Windows issue than WOWs but does this happen to anybody else? My internet is only 8mb down but I have a powerful PC with tons of memory and a good CPU. You would think my PC would be powerful enough to handle the mouse positioning during a WOWs update (but it can't). Basically I can't use my PC during a WOWs download. Once the download is done, poof, everything is back to normal. Anybody else experience this?

    I'm back after about 1 1/2 years

After about a Year and a half after the Mac wrapper kicked me from the game; I have finally returned. The game has changed dramatically since I left. I almost feel like a fossil that has bizarrely returned. I managed to return by using my roommate's much nicer PC computer than the macbook I have played on in the past. What I don't understand is why the macwrapper suddenly failed to run with my computer no matter how much I tried. At the time, I even tried contacting customer support only to get the response "The Mac Wrapper for World of Warships is not an official wrapper for the game client, and it is for this reason it is out of our jurisdiction." For an "Unofficial" Mac Wrapper, they certainly went out of their way to advertise it on their main sites... I also wonder how many other mac players were given the boot from technical errors even after they invested money in the game. Regardless, I have returned. I may never invest money into this game again because of a severe a lack of trust, but it is a start.

    Channel Update: Get Pumped

Content has been a little sparse due to clan battles but that is about to change. A few sneak peaks as appetizers for what is in the pipeline for my channel.
  22. Dear WG, While the removal of smoke firing and change of spotting is great. You guys really forgot about some ships which needed to have their roles refined since the smoke fire update.... IE the Blyskawica, like that was her main role. And yet her stats are not changed at all since the removal of smoke firing. Without it the Blyskawica is now much harder to play. And seriously, any time she gets hit from anything, her modules break instantly, and ALL OF THEM. As a dd player who plays other nations dds, no other dds has multiple modules break so easily. What is up with her extreme agility as a dd? Could you guys consider updating her or something. Like some many other who have (had) the Blyskawica, and BOUGHT HER WITH REAL MONEY, well we just got screwed over. Sincerely, A Mad Blyskawica player.

  25. Go Navy! This part of the update is pretty exciting. On the test server, the player gets extra containers depending on the person's team score. The containers have tokens, signals, camos and a few other things which is great. There is also a leaderboard that tells the score of the Sharks and Eagles, which is very convenient. The extra containers help a lot with getting extra rewards like replenishing signals. In my opinion, this part of the update will be a big hit. The devs. made a great improvement in this area of the game. I am looking forward to it. Arsenal Update The change here is a minor change in that WG has enabled its players to choose another way to redeem goods in the Arsenal. This might be a good change in that it may be easier to redeem in-game goods with tokens earned from containers. Let us hope so! Operations Update The operations is also a great change to the game. Ignoring the fact that these operations were available in the past, these operations is a big addition to the game. The Raptor Rescue was pretty fun to play in, but I do have a concern with the Narai operation. I don't know if it was from new players entering the operation, but I do think it should be a little easier as the number of enemy ships is pretty overwhelming. Another way to fix this issue is to lessen the number of islands in the operation like in Raptor Rescue. I always found myself stuck behind an island after fighting an enemy, while other enemy ships were attacking the support ships. Other than that, the operations were perfect. Battle UI: Information I do not have any concerns about this, but I do think it will be helpful for players, especially new players to the game.
