  1. I say it's a total failure. In these days I find it hard to believe that people would believe in such things when announced before 1st april. umad?
  2. WoWs, WHAT THE .... Bruh!

I am so excited hearing people claiming coupon with discount for items and such in WoWs, i even asked them how they obtain it and so on and so forth. Finally, i got 1 given to me ..... it like 30% discount, but cant use on doubloon and such .. that fine with me. I jump straight to Premium Shop and look for the ship i am longed for "The Atlanta" ....... to my disappointment, she no where .... i cant find her, she probably SUNK on the dark side of the Internet ....... and sadly i dont want to travel to the dark side to find me .. very disappointed WoWs ... very much hurt!
  3. Been grinding near the bottom of the Pan Asian line where there are still quite a few fresh Steam newbies, I use their smoke and then fire your DWT right through them. They will flip out every time and at least half the time bug right out of the smoke sometimes getting themselves killed. Hilarious.
  4. Cruiser Damage Hax!

So I just discovered an amazing cruiser hack that helps increase damage almost every match. Well I think it's a hack because I don't see a lot of people using this trick it in game. But seriously people should use this more often and I face palm every-time I see baddies not using the best ammo choice for the situation..
  5. 1. Assume everyone is out to get you. 2. All supertesters are on the payroll, and are here to rip you off. 3. The Premium ships you buy are junk 4. All Premium ships that you can't afford are overpowered super ships 5. Any class of ship that sinks one of yours is not only overpowered, but should be removed from the game, for the good of all. 6. CVs pick on you, YES YOU, and nobody else. 7. NEVER use the Search button! It will destroy your computer, the Russians will hack your bank accounts, and it will open a portal to Hell, and your life will be haunted by a killer clown for the rest of your days. After all, you are special, and the only one that has ever heard of the USS Alaska. (speaking of the devil....) 8. You are the only one that knows where to put that ship in the game. Everybody else is clueless as far as this oddball giant white elephant that the Navy itself didn't even know what to really do with when it got them.... 9. It should take you about 15 seconds to figure out that this game, and forum is a hotbed of Japanese anime fans. How dare such a thing invade your holy realm of arcade ships! Bash the movies, TV shows, avatars, ships, etc, etc, after all, what shows people watch affects how your run your life....right? 10. The fact that the USN DOESN'T rule the waves in this game just shows that the Russians are still sore about that "Miracle on ice" thing, and take it out on us...every...single...game... 11. You are the only one that ever gets Detonated. 12. The game knows that you are the best player ever to click a mouse, so it puts you on team full of veggies, just to drive you crazy. 13. You are the only one that gets lit by radar ships on the other sides of islands. Nobody at wargaming has ever heard of this, so it is up to you to sound the alarm. 14. Fire is bad. 15. When you rage quit, make sure you do it in the most public way possible, so the rest of us agree with you, and join the angry mob, complete with pitchforks, torches, and stakes to burn witches on. (Happy Halloween! Speaking if which) 16. The Halloween or any mission, should be super easy for a Grand Master player like you, and if its not, then wargaming made it hard just to ruin you holiday, and make your sad. Just like that scary old lady who gave out toothbrushes for trick or treat. 17. Don't ever read any of the game guides or tutorials, as they are always written by dummies...
  6. Zao is a Troll

So I decided to take Zao out for a spin in the training room vs a Monty cuz I wanna test her troll armor. I angle my Zao so that I can almost get my rear turrets to bear, and at 6-8km, most of the shells fired from the Monty bounced clean off my hull. At that point, I'm like So TIL. I also figured out why my ambushes on bbs went poorly. I should've been showing MORE side.
  7. April 1 All Kitakimi mode

Is everyone ready for the April 1st all Kitakami mode on the Ocean map?
  8. I've seen the abusive, I've seen the salty, I've seen the angry, but this is the first time meeting a troll. Under what ticket do I report this to WG? Chat link; Context; Another Atlanta starts firing his guns at the islands right as the match starts and the pink status player shoots him for doing so. Then I kind of feed the troll and he shoots me. I am set on fire and he dies from self-inflicted penalty damage. He even sends some torpedoes on my way which run short because Gneisenau torps only go 6km when I was 6.3 km away. Also before commenting, that "ohhh, SRM is plebe [edited]and a snowflake at that who cannot handle trolls" blah blah etc, this is an active problem because I'm pretty sure many players do not want to put up with trolls shooting/teamkilling their own teammates. Also I would like to apologize to all the SEA and Aussie players who play on the NA server. I kind of get flaky on you guys by the end of the chat.
  9. Bots UP WG Plz Buff

Okay, PvE games are pretty much never worth sharing, but humor me. Derping around for my daily crate, and suddenly this gem: And ok, so what? Wat!
  10. Teamwork works

who told you that being a good teammate doesnt pay off?
  11. Edit: just got informed about the taboo on forums. But unfortunately dunno how to get rid of the post other then editing it out.
  12. What options do I have?

What options do I have to repeal a Team Kill? I didn't have any replay set up otherwise I would do that. Had a DD that kept running into my BB. Told him he was only hurting himself by hitting me (indeed, he only did 7 pts of damage), but he kept sitting on my nose, drifting away a moment, then coming back. So in hindsight I shouldn't be shocked that when I fired a volley at an enemy ship, in ended up killing him. He even typed "I found a loophole." moments before I killed him. I have his player name but I don't want to hastily post it if that's bad etiquette. I know the pink will go away with several good games. I just hate being trolled like that. Any options?
  13. I don't agree with everybody. Truth to tell, I don't get along with everybody. But I try to get along. Case in point: Lazar_Lyusternik and I disagree on quite a few things. But Lazar has never questioned my intelligence, knowledge, integrity or my right to voice my opinion. I respect Lazar. He is a class act. When we differ he will present his argument. I will present mine and we may agree to disagree. Each of us knows in our heart of hearts that the other is wrong, but we don't beat each other up over it. My model for conflict resolution: determine what is right, not who is wrong. Sometimes there is no resolution. Oh well. Every once in a while you run into someone who won't let it ride. They must get the last word. Often anything you post they will treat as a personal attack and the language may well escalate. For people like this it is not about what is right, it is about "I AM RIGHT!" Maybe they have an uncontrollable need to leave their mark. I don't know. I don't really care. In the long run it's not my problem. How do you deal with people like that? Let them get the last word. Post that it is too bad that they have taken a dislike to your point of view and ignore their following posts. If you don't respond will they stop posting? Of course not, it's in their nature. But if you don't respond you deny them what they need for their next response. When they find their hunger for conflict is not being satisfied, they will find someplace where their hunger will be satisfied; someplace else. Those of you with long memories may recognize the above from pre-Alpha. I couldn't find it with search and it felt like a good time to bring it back.
  14. Since the Russians get their large cruiser at T10, I say we introduce the Alaska class large cruisers as a counter to her. Give the Ol girl some competition in the big bad cruiser contest. Moskva VS Alaska!
  15. I really don't care what anyone thinks about anything at this point. I am pointing this out because I think the Administrators on both the game and the forum boards need to rein in some of these hateful trolls. I actually give you money when I play for premium play and other things so it's not entirely too much to ask that you please remove some of these people that make the game intolerable to play. Start with the ones that are just in your face hateful with any remark they can muster to hurt someone. There's no need for that. If this sort of conduct continues, rest assured, I will take my money to some other mmog and that will be that. In a world of such fierce competition, is that how you want to do business?
  16. Stupid dream about WOW!

I had a dream.....that WG will be selling the german premium BB's for $31. Seems legit right?
  17. WG, trolling again.

So, WG is at it again. Trolling those of us with the Extended Tech Tree mod: I was jumping for joy.....till I clicked it P.S: WG, you owe me a new chair
  18. How old is everyone here

Somewhat of a troll post but judging by the community at its current state its flooded with people around 20~30 and 5~15. I doubt anyone will play this game if they're over 100 years old = =
  19. I seem to notice a serious amount of trolls and general lack of teamwork on Saturday nights from about 6-9 pm PST. It seems like an awful lot of hateful chat and suicide killing resulting in loses. I work with other ships and I see guys running off to die and as usual complaining no one back them up. It just seems a little more than normal on Saturday. I am really hoping this does not continue. I know the other side is winning but I am watching my stats drop like crazy while I get hits and kills. Anyone else notice this?
  20. this makes me very sad WHEN ARE WARGAMMING GONNA DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT no need for this kind of disrespect when people have worked hard to get tier 8

Lol JK, i know theyre not even released to the public yet... i just wanted to be the official first person to complain about Russian bias. But seriously they will probably be OP as heck.... but that just means that the Italian destroyers will be OP also because most russian destroyers were designed by Italy.. built in Italy.. for Russia.. and even the Destroyers Russia did build on their own were heavily inspired by latest italian destroyer design. The only Russian ship im looking foreward to is the Gangut/Marat. Yes, this is a troll post Yes, this is a Russian bias post Yes this is a rage/rant post Have a nice day
  22. Server Still Down!

    Sorry couldn't help myself
  23. I admit yesterday was good day playing. Seemed civilized for most part.....then. Arggghhh ended night with some *****#####**** TKing me, while running the mouth. Screenshot it and reported. Get on just now, playing a few, smartass in chat starts running his mouth for no reason after I get racked with typical no support, so I head down by CV's to repair. It starts with WHAT are you doing camping at J6...I calmly explain. then kill an incoming red DD. He starts ranting in chat about how he's gonna kill me. OH jeez. He's in a Isakuszi (sp), says he is gonna torp me. Im in my Fuso, He is running in at me along with a red DD saying how he wants the Fuso! I blow a salvo across his bow, and now he's pissed! . He torps me. I give up. Red dd kills me. I tell all to report him. He says he didn't TK me. I am sick of screenshot's. We need to have a community based check and balance system in place cause I'm gonna resort to survival and my pink color wont match my thong. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH
  24. Ok I know the game is fresh but lets get this isht straight right effin now. One of the MAIN reasons I've pretty much abandoned my WoT account is troll platoons and WG's inability or unwillingness to do a damn thing about it. Was looking to get in a few battles and decided to toon up. THREE times when I got enlisted, three different players readied up a tiers II or III and when I told them the lowest I had was 5 they said to go ahead and run it but I refused and just left. After the third time I decided to find out the mind set behind why this was and was very disturbed at what I found. And then the kid left the Division. Now, I don't blame the kid for his actions, nor am I trying to name and shame him, he's admittedly new and curiosity is part of being human, who and what I DO blame is WG for NOT having a mechanism in place to PREVENT IT. What if I'd said "what the hell and brought my tier 6 or tier7 into a battle with a tier 3? We all know there's trolls out there who don't give a isht and will do it anyway. These are the same type of tardbaskets from Wot who have the tendencies to bring tiers 2 and 3 into a battle with a tier 10. Sure they can scout and blah blah blah but we all know that's NOT the reason they did it. THEY ARE TROLLS. They just handicapped the team but shorting it a tank or ship that can actually contribute to the outcome of the battle. Six years into the game and with over 1000 post about troll platooning, it's well past time WG got off their asses and addressed it. WoWs is still young and although a bunch of people already have 8s, 9s and even 10s (man thats a long [edited]Q), most are still in the 3 to 7 range so there's not that many opportunities to see troll platoons (divisions) so there PLENTY of time to work out a solution BEFORE it becomes a issue. I may not be the greatest Wot player in the world but 1) I still kinda like WoT, 2) I've played a truck load of battles over the last 5 years, 3) Dumped a hell of a lot of money into this game (won't say how much but WG sure as hell knows the number) and 4) If this is not addressed BEFORE it becomes a major issue, then I'm out of here too.
  25. How to be a good forum poster Index: Introduction Humor Posting Style Remain Polite Spamming Reputation Conclusion TL;DR Additional Suggestions 1. IntroductionLet us dispense with the formalities that we all should have read regarding our conduct in these forums--the World of Warships Forum Rules, Reading the Stickies, and following the admonitions of our moderators. This is where a valued poster begins, having a foundation on which to grow in any forum. Welcome to the Good Poster Guide. For some individuals, good posting comes naturally and it's very easy for them to make good posts consistently. An example would be Conrad Jalowski, but in my opinion that's scholarly posting, what I consider on a separate level to just regular good posting. Maybe you're looking to make a name for yourself as one of those members people respect, and your attempts have failed so far? Maybe you just want to improve your posting for that good feeling you get from the change from a spammer to one who frequently makes constructive posts. Whatever your reason, if you're interested then read on! 2. Humor You don't always have to be serious. That'll give the impression that you're robotic. Yes, you could be making good posts constantly, but you need to express a semblance of humanity or otherwise people may find you more of an oddity than one of those admired members. If you can find the perfect mix of good posting and humor, then you're there. Spot on. My sense of humor is particularly awful though, so I tend to refrain from pulling jokes too much. 3. Posting style Coming from a guide I want you to read, it may sound weird me saying this, but don't copy other peoples' posting styles. If you're going to be a good poster, you have to come up with your own kind of style which will probably vary among person to person. A few tips I have to offer though, are the following: Refrain from posting a few words or a one-liner. If you're going to post in a thread, it should add to the discussion and you should make a post which brings up the main points brought up by the OP, or if the thread has twisted in to different topics (excluding the spammy ones) then to answer those. Don't post pointless spam or lolcats for the sake of it. Honestly, they really aren't funny unless it's timed perfectly. For example, if someone makes an extremely obvious point (e.g "World War II was bad"), then followed by some "O RLY?!" comment would be funny (in my opinion anyway). Of course, afterwards rather than targeting that poster, get back on topic. Preferably keep comments like this between you and your forum friends, if it's someone you don't know then they might get offended. Try to remain posting in topics you know about. For example, if someone makes a thread on the Jewish Revolts in Judaea during the 1st Century AD in the Roman Empire and you know nothing on the topic, there's no point adding to the thread since it wouldn't be anything constructive. On the other hand, if say the Vietnam War is your strong subject, then add as much to the thread as you can. Your viewpoint and facts would be appreciated. An example of a bad post:Quote "the americans beat the nazis on d-day because they were better than all of the other countries in ww2" An example of a good post: Quote "The Allies were able to land successfully on D-Day due to various reasons at the time. Rundstedt wanted to hold the panzers in reserve whereas Rommel wanted them up front, believing the battle would be decided within the first 24 hours. Hitler came to the compromise by allowing a part of the armour to be deployed further inland in Normandy while allowing some of them to be placed further up. An example would be the 21. Panzer-Division which was in Caen on 6 June 1944. Total air and naval supremacy had been achieved by the Allied forces at the time, and Operation Fortitude, a British deception campaign had firmly convinced the German intelligence (Abwehr) that a landing was going to be launched at Pas-de-Calais (hence why Hitler deployed his strong divisions, such as the 1.SS Panzer-Division (Leibstandarte) in the area. Despite approximately 2,000 losses being inflicted on the American troops at Omaha beach, the landings at Utah, Sword, Juno and Gold went pretty much without a hitch. The beachheads would rapidly expand post-landing, but it was the Bocage which would inevitably lead to the month after months of intense combat, and the urban terrain in Caen which would be the bane of the British forces too." 4. Remain polite If you're arguing with a member with an opposing viewpoint, try to remain as polite as possible. Getting angry at them serves no purpose at all, and will just make you look like an idiot. Just think, everything posted on this forum will remain there for years and years afterwards. It's a permanent mark, and when you look back you may realize how silly you might have looked at the time. To limit the amount of embarrassment you may have in the future, try to contain your frustrations. Another thing, is not to answer trolls. They are attempting to derail your thread, and answering them will simply derail it further and antagonize you. Just ignore them and stick to the topic at hand. They'll get bored and go away. Problem is, there is always someone who will answer them, so by not answering you're simply limiting their number of victims as much as possible. If they break the rules, report them and they'll be punished by the appropriate authorities with a punishment befitting their violation of the rules, taking in to account their history on the forum and the severity of what they had done. 5. Spamming You may have a massive inclination to post in every thread, but don't. Try to hold back. It's much better to have ten informative posts than one hundred smaller ones (See Gaea's Post regarding this), since the amount of content they'll add to the threads they are posted in will be fairly minimal compared to the ten informative ones. Not posting so much allows you to let other members to express their views, and then when it comes around to you posting in the thread there's much more for you to answer rather than replying to every single new post that gets made. Having a high post count means nothing unless they're good posts, in which case it would be an accurate measurement of your contribution. Although not much better, rep is a better way to gauge the level of contribution by a member. For example, I have 23 points (given by a total of four members) all for good posting. 6. Reputation There has been a change in how people are recognized in these forums, one that actually promotes participation, and is worthy of our efforts to promote valued posting. With the removal of negative reputation, positive points have become a commodity, often only going out to friends. This does little to help shape the forums, especially mold new users effecting changes in their posting style. What would hurt to set a new standard herein where we help other users by recognizing their efforts? If positive reputation is that incentive, then give them out and promote positive posting, which in turn, promotes a positive forum. 7. Conclusion An easy way to get started would be to maintain your grammar in your posts to as high a standard as you possibly can. If you want to make a good post, it's good if you at least make it look like a good post. Then, you just need to try and stick to topics you know about, and try to add as much as you can about the topic in hand rather than just a short little one-liner. Try to stick to the subject and don't start directing your posts at other members in an attempt to upset them. If you can do something along the lines of what i've suggested in this thread, in time you will be able to execute what i've written as ideas flawlessly and you will be appreciated for your insight in threads. To use the same example, Crag_r is admired on this forum and is rarely questioned. It's a double-edged sword because it means he's highly trusted, but then on the other hand he could then post a nonsensical post and people would still agree with him due to what he's done in the past. No way is this an attempt to insult you may I add, it's just a point I felt I needed to raise. (Thank you, Crag_r, for allowing your handle to be used in this example.) If you've been bothered to read all of this, I appreciate it and I hope it'll (even if slightly) improve the overall posting quality on this forum, hell I would be happy if it improved one member's posting quality since it means what I've written has actually worked, even if to a limited extent. Two little disclaimers though, even though I feel if you want to improve you should try, don't ever make it a mentally taxing commitment. Forums in all truth are for fun, and if you don't have fun in doing what I've suggested in this thread, then don't try and force yourself to do it. Also, since the off-topic forum is supposed to be more laid back, the suggestions I've offered in this guide shouldn't be applied so rigidly since long detailed posts don't really have much of a place in there and it's more of a place to unwind and relax than try to spark a debate. Nonetheless, there is the thin line between spamming and relaxing, and you should always try to stick with the latter. 8. TL;DR (1) Have fun (2) Be respectful (3) Don't Flame (4) Don't derail an intelligent thread (5) Be yourself (as in don't worry about what the rest of the "group" will say or do if you post. Just say what you think/feel keep it within the rules so it doesn't cause drama/infractions/suspension/banning.) 9. Additional Suggestions: (Thank you for adding value to this topic!) ElvenLord says... (Link): "Another helpful tip would be to not remind every person of the rules at every turn. This is the moderator's job and they do a darn fine job of it..." Wake_Island says... (Link): "When someone makes a thread that they worked hard on do not just say Interesting or +1. People like it when you say what you like about there thread. T4 I really like this thread, it is original it is productive and I like seeing help full threads. Thanks for reading this." sgtpepper500 says... (Link): "In all seriousness a good start to becoming a valued poster is to use common sense and to put some thought into your posts as well." DementedMind says... (Link): "HELP! How to download WoWS? (Make sure to read FAQ first before making any threads, chances are, it has already been answered)" Spanisharmada says... (Link): "Dont repeat a previous thread,, always use the search function. Always try to be original as possible and always make sure that your question/ suggestion hasn't already been answered/suggested" Skygunner says... (Link): "Likewise it's useful that if one is familiar with the ToS to the point where they can quote it., that they should probably follow it themselves. Here it is in case anyone's interested. Same as the WoT forum http://forum.worldof...ps-forum-rules/ Really if you just stick to the ToS and use the search function, you'll be just fine." JeeWeeJ says... (Link): "If you know something about a certain subject (like a certain ship, a battle or any other subject), don't just copy and paste wikipedia. Try to write your own text about it! It'll show that you actually know about the subject AND are passionate enough about it to spend time on it. The +1's will come automatically. And if you do copy and paste wiki (or any other source), at least be so kind to say so and credit the source." Crag_r says... (Link): "And onto that for the love of what ever god (or lack of) you chose; Add pictures to your topic, there is little use just putting up a wall of text as people might just skip over it. Visuals not only can keep the reader reading but also help to explain your point, and can show in practical terms just what you are talking about. Now for a topic like this its not really needed so don't worry, but if you are making a topic on a ship or tactics it is critical to show some visuals on it" Quaffer says... (Link): "Before posting in someones thread take a moment to browse through the other posts. Paying special attention to the last few posts. Your post will be the better for it. Few things are as frustrating as taking the time to write a thoughtful post only to have it derailed by people posting on some odd tangent that distracts readers from the point you were attempting to make."
